Just Magnolia Monthly Challege - August - 3D

Hi everyone, another scheduled post which I hope you're reading :). I thought I'd blog a card wallet that I made recently and sent to my friend Larissa, I know she's received it and that I can show it now, I'm also entering it for the Just Magnolia monthly challenge which is 3D and I'll pop my name into Mr. Linky in a few days time. There's a great tutorial by Debby who is so expert at 3D and who has generously shared all her tips for getting it just right. I particularly liked her tip for cutting out those difficult inner bits by cutting on glass instead of a cutting mat, I often end up with a raggedy mess when I do these bits with a craft knife so that was very helpful, thanks Debby. I made up the wallet with navy blue bazzil card and used BasicGrey June Bug papers which I love and thought would go well with the Ladybug Tilda. I've coloured Tilda with markers, 3D'd her head and her hand with the ladybug, only time for one layer I'm afraid! I've sponged some distress inks on the background and matted on some more of the navy Bazzil. There are three layers of MS heart punched borders and a wide yellow ribbon which has a pretty sparkly thread going through it. To finish I stuck some red gems in the corners. TFL. Chris x

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 20 - A recipe

Hi everyone and I hope you're reading this second scheduled post :). Challenge 20 at Dare U 2 Digi Stamp is a recipe challenge suggested by Caroline, so thanks Caroline, I really enjoyed this one! As well as your digital image we'd like to see 2 patterned papers, 3 flowers and 1 ribbon. My DT friends have come up with some wonderful creations with this recipe and I hope you'll be able to join us. I've used my sunflowers image which is available in the digi shop, I often buy these flowers when they're in season as they're one of my favourites, they always seem so cheerful and make me smile. I coloured them with markers and then cut the image out. The card blank is cut from Bazzil card and my two patterned papers are Marrakech by BasicGrey. The paper edges are distressed with scissors and I've done some doodling with sparkle and glaze gel pens. Added some thin green ribbon and an arrangement of flowers and punched leaves to decorate. TFL and see you with another scheduled post in a few days. Enjoy your weekend. Chris x

Colour Create 26 - Ruby, Cream and Gold - Option Gems

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. This is a scheduled post as I'm not around for a few days, hopefully this and tomorrow's will appear. Our challenge on Colour Create this time is my choice and I picked Ruby, Cream and Gold with an option of gems. Our sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp. I hope you like the colours and I look forward to visiting you soon to see your gorgeous creations. My DT friends have made some absolutely superb cards and I'm happy to say that they all enjoyed the colours too.

I made a card and gift bag set which are cut from dark red Bazzil card. The bag was cut on the Cricut and then after stamping randomly with a Stempelglede grunge flower stamp in metallic gold ink was glued together, decorated with cream half pearls, a sticky back gem motif and some pearl covered gold ribbon for the handle. I did the same with the card and then edged them both with the metallic gold ink pad. See you tomorrow (I hope) with my Dare U2 Digi card. TFL. Chris x

Hi eveyone, hope you've had a good week and are ready for the weekend. Time for another Basic Grey Challlenge. This time we have a colour challenge for you and some fantastic inspiration from my design team friends, you'll be spoiled for choice! For this card I've used a Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl image which is watercoloured with distress inks and I've added lots of stickles glitter glue to her dress. The background layers are cream bazzil card which is embossed with a CB Swiss dots embossing folder and BG Bittersweet paper. All of the layers are sponded around the edges with vintage photo distress ink. The card blank is a papermania scalloped card. I've done some doodling around the edges with a pink glitter gel pen, two pink eyelets and added a pink tulle ribbon to finish. Have a lovely weekend. TFL. Chris x

SCSC #45, A spoon full of sugar #65

Hi everyone, a card today for SCSC with a theme of fancy corners and also for A spoon full of sugar where the theme is travel which I'm hoping I can just about get away with as the image is a pram and you travel in a pram :D.
I've used my retro pram digi soon to be available in the digi shop and coloured it with markers then sponged around the edges with distress ink. The background layers are Bazzil embossed card and pink Core'dinations card which I've sanded, embossed with the CB swiss dots folder and punched with a MS punch to give a fancy corner. I used a corner rounder punch on the inner pink layer. Added some stickles, sparkle gel pen, flowers and punched leaves to finish. I have a new blogger quirk today, it's starting to become quite entertaining wondering what will go wrong next :), when writing my post although I've done nothing to change the font or anything else with the type, as I typed all the text is being put in as a link, highlighted and underlined! I'm sure they're trying to fix it as I type :). Have a good day. TFL. Chris x

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 19- Blue, Green and White or Cream

Hi everyone, another Dare U 2 Digi stamp challenge card and this time it's a colour combo of blue, green and white or cream with a digital image. I've used my daisy vase image and coloured it with markers. The background is also coloured with markers and sponged at the edges then layered on BasicGrey Limeade paper which is also edge sponged. I've done some piercing and faux stitching on the patterned paper and added stickles to the image, a pretty ribbon courtesty of my friend Tara (x) , a rub on sentiment and some pearls. The dark blue card is core'dinations and I've distressed the edges with scissors. Isn't it typical that you only ever notice that things are skewed after you've uploaded your photo :), I'll leave you to find that one :D but it shouldn't take too long! Hope you have a great weekend. Thanks for visiting. Chris x

Colour Create 25 - Blue, Sand, Silver and Black, CCT #73, Our Creative Corner, Allsorts, ABC

Hi everyone, a card today for our next challenge on Colour Create which this time is a combo of Blue, Sand, Silver and Black with an optional theme of Summer and our sponsor this week is Handy Hippo who have generously given 5 vouchers for 10% off any purchases made from their shop, even more reason to enter this time :). We have a new team member joining us, so a big welcome to Deanne who makes the most beautiful cards, it's lovely to have you with us Deanne! You'll be spoiled for inspiration from my DT friends this time, truly amazing cards from everyone.

I'm also entering this card for Cute Card Thursday where the challenge is 'At the beach', and Our Creative Corner where there's an inspiration challenge that fits with the colours I've used, Allsorts Challenge where the theme is vintage and as I've used lace and distressing I think it fits :), ABC challenge where it's the letter A and anything goes although I haven't used the option which is animals.

I've used a Kadoodle stamp 'ice cream days' for this card and she's watercoloured with distress inks and glittered with some stickles. Everthing is matted on black bazzil card doodled around the edges with a silver pen. The other layers are embossed with a cb swirls embossing folder, sanded then rubbed over with silver metallic paste. To decorate I added a gem swirl which I split so that I could have some at the top and some at the bottom, a rub on sentiment, some sand coloured lace and blue pearls. Hope everyone's blogger probs are sorted out now, I've been able to make a post today which is a relief and all the blogs I follow are back, hopefully it'll settle now until the next problem arises :D. Have a good day today. Chris x

BasicGrey Challenges #1 - Sketch

Hi everyone, hope your weekend is off to a good start, it definitely is for me, BasicGrey Challenges are back with a whole new look blog, fortnightly combinable (is that a word?) challenges and a great sponsor on a monthly basis, Simon Says Stamp. Lots of changes and all the info can be found on the blog with fantastic inspiration from my DT friends and our lovely guest designer for August, June. Hope you can join us for the first challenge which is a gorgeous sketch designed by our very talented Tara and which I loved so much I made a layout!!! Thanks Tara, it's a really great one.

I've used June Bug papers and photographs from our holiday which I've altered in photoshop to give an art print look. The background is aqua bazzil card, I've embossed it here and there with the Morroccon screen cuttlebug folder and all the photo's and die cut letters are matted with black bazzil card. I was really excited about this layout partly because I hardly ever make them and then because I entered it for the BasicGrey website gallery and they've accepted it, big grin from ear to ear! Hope you have a lovely weekend and some sun, wherever you are. TFL. Chris x

Just Magnolia 16, A spoon full of sugar 63, Roses on Paper 17,

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well. A card today for Just Magnolia #16 - distressing, A spoon full of sugar 63 - Floral Fantasy and Roses on Paper 17 - a little love. I cut out a doily card blank from yellow card on the Cricut for this one and then used up some scraps of Imaginisce paper for all the other elements which have been edge distressed and sponged for JM. One of the elements is a heart for ROP and another a flower with flowery paper for ASFOS. I've coloured my princess tilda with markers, cut her out and placed her on the tag. Added some stickles, a rub on sentiment and ribbon to the heart and around the edge of the card blank (a la my friend San, whose idea it was). TFL. Chris x
