The Funkie Junkie 12 Tags of Christmas 2012 - Tags 8 - 12

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good weekend. I've decided to do one post with the rest of my tags for Linda's Funkie Junkie Twelve tags of Christmas sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique as they have to be done by tomorrow, hoping this is OK and for each tag I've linked to the appropriate week on Linda's blog. I'm glad I got them all done and they'll be going on my Christmas gifts over the next few days, thank you Linda for giving me the oomph to get them done this year :D!

From Linda's tag I've gone generally with the colours of red and black but with a kraft background, different stamps and decorations a different arrangements. The stamps are all by Tim Holtz and I've added twine doodled dots with paint pens and a large poinsettia flower that I've cut in half.

I followed as close as I could on Linda's tag for week 9 as I really loved it. I've done a woodgrain embossed  (Tim Holtz embossing folder) and white distress crackle painted background then stamped my Sizzix die cut stars with an Impression Obsession stripe stamp in Barn Door distress ink over kraft card. The holly die cuts are punched with a woodware punch and I've added the beautiful gingham ribbon, buttons with twine and rusty bells together with a metal sentiment to finish off.

A beautiful free vintage image sheet was offered by Linda for the week 10 tag and it really is pretty! I followed Linda's style with the Tim Holtz bricked embossing folder although I coloured mine with white acrylic paint and a bauble cut from the image sheet as Linda did with hers. I edged mine with gold stickles before attaching it to the tag. To finish I added some german scrap style silver letters a la Tim Holtz's technique from tag 12 of last year's twelve tags of Christmas, it's very easy to do and looks very effective. To finish off I added festive greenery and berries, red bells, twin and ribbon.

The main similarity to Linda's beautiful week 11 tag is the rest background that I did using white acrylic paint and the Tim Holtz grungy snowflake stamps. I enjoyed the colours on this one where I used seasonal distress inks, mown grass and peacock feathers and then I sponged the edges with gathered twigs. I went made with the flowers for this one and dyed some seam binding ribbon with crushed olive distress stain to add to the top.

Again I loved Linda's elegant tag for week 12 and I've used red for my background as Linda has on her tag.
First of all I clear embossed the Christmas tree from the Tim Holtz Christmas Blueprints stamps and sponged with a mixture of picked raspberry, barn door and spiced marmalade distress ink for some tonal variation (not showing up too well in the photo however). I sponged the edges with gathered twigs then added some pearl string at the bottom, festive greenery, flowers, pearl string and seam binding ribbon at the top to finish off.

Hope my single post for the last tags is OK with you Linda, I've really enjoyed doing them and thank you for organising it.

Here's a collage of all the tags together.

I really love this part of the process when I see them all together in one montage but even more when I see them all on the gifts under the tree and I'll take a photo of that when I've done the wrapping and show it in a separate post. Enjoy your evening :)

Oh my Chris, these are all exquisite. (And yes, it's fine to publish them all in one post.) They are all so beautifully made and embellished. My favorite of this group is #10. I am crazy about the color palette you used on that. It is just so bright and fresh looking You have inspired me and now I am itching to make something those colors - LOL. I'm so happy you joined in the 12 tags challenge with us this year. Congratulations on crossing the finish line!
