Lupins or Foxgloves? Undecided!

Hi everyone, hope your week is off to a good start. I'm sharing a spread from my Art Book today, trying to process the photo's and blog those that I haven't managed to yet.  I'm undecided if the flowers are lupins or foxgloves, they feel like a bit of both to me but of course it's all with a huge amount of artistic licence :D!

Lovely DecoArt paints have been used throughout over a layer of gesso and the flowers are simply made by loading the brush with two colours of paint and varying the colours to get a multi-toned look.

After the paint was completely dry I did some stamping with a few Katzelkfraft lace stamps and then doodled around my flowers and into the background with black india ink adding some splotches too. I can't seem to find any challenges for Art Journalling/Art Books that I can enter into but if anyone knows of any I'd be grateful to know about them.

Have a lovely evening and thanks as always for your comments, I appreciate them. Oh, I just remembered and am not sure if this happens with anyone else but I've been unable to comment on blogs that are linked with google+ so apologies if you're linked up with that and haven't received a comment from me, I have tried. I've now taken myself off google+, couldn't really see what the benefit was anyway to be honest and just in case anyone else was having a problem with my blog.

Well, I'm no horticulturalist, so I'm happy just to say whatever they are, they're gorgeous! Love the variegated colours and the amazing texture you get with the thick application of paint - beautiful.

I've had to back off Google+ blogs too - I refuse to be known by my full name everywhere I go. It's all going to get very tricky if they do take away Google Friend Connect as well as Google Reader...

Hello Chris, your flowers are stunning!I love the "life" within your page, all the happy expression of those flowers. I have no idea of the name! but they do speak to me about a lovely summer day, the wonderful perfume coming from them, and I could even hear the little birds signing.

As far as Google +, OMG... I did not know what Ihad done, and found myself getting e-mails from many people not able to leave comments. I finally figure out, and remove this option, and yes I think I will remove google + also. It won't help very much when blogger removes the reader options. this is getting very very complicated for me, and I find I loose so much time trying for the best.
have a lovely evening! Hugs.

I am almost back to where I started with you - your art journal. Chris these flowers are so pretty. The colors are gorgeous and I love your style - love it! LOL! You make it sound so simple and yet I know I would be making mud. Would dearly love to see more of your art journal work!
