Hi everyone, I'm happy to be introducing the first stamp set from the Paperbabe Stamps October release along with my DT friends. There's more information on Paperbabe Stamps blog with a gorgeous sample from Kim.
Today's introduction is the gorgeously festive 'Arctic Jumper' stamp set which will be on sale from Saturday, another incredibly clever design from Kim.
On large stamps such as this one with solid areas it can be easier to lay the stamping card on to the stamp, add a layer of scrap paper and then gently rub over the stamp to transfer the ink but if any areas that don't have a good impression they can be touched up with a little of the ink on a paintbrush.
Of course there's so much more that can be done with this set, Kim has added extra stamps to it and I've used the holly sprigs and berry stamps to create a border around the edge of my stamped panel, I also coloured in the pattern on the jumper with watercolour markers to give a completely different style of card with more of an illustrative style but still a nice flat card for posting. A bit of sparkle is added with a wink of stellar clear pen.
The set is intended for quick cards and it really can be great for single colour one layer cards that have a retro feel to them, I've added a coating of clear wink of stellar ink for sparkle for a bit more interest. I made up several cards in different coloured pigment inks which work well with clear stamps.
I hope you'll join me tomorrow for the next introduction.
