Sketching Exercise

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well. A sketching exercise to show today to get me back in the swing and which is part of  a workshop I'm doing at ChristieTomlinson.com. As you can see :) my subject was peppers, sketched in pencil, watercoloured and then shaded with black pen. Close ups below.

Exercise 2 was a word prompt, the word being 'place' and there's also a theme of spring. I chose garden as my place and the sketch idea is robins and their nest...we have our robins nest building again close to the house and this is the watercolour sketch that came from that.

As always, thank you for your lovely comments, I appreciate them :).

Oh you are so amazing....it was interesting reading these pieces came to be. Also glad I read that you sketch first in pencil, then water colour then go around in black in. Silly me I have been doodling in black ink then watercolouring. Learnt something :-)

Knockout artwork Chris, you are SO talented. (I take back what I said about your crap cards, ha ha) Love that the robins have your 'signature' dots on them. Know where can I buy some Green Pepper earrings?

OMG!! Chris you are so talented. Peppers don't agree with me but your art work does. It is so creative. I love the girl with the pepper umbrella and the pepper earrings. Just noticed the pepper cup of tea.
Very unigue and clever. Oh yeh! the fridge magnets.

Hi Chris!
I forgot to mention the Robins and their nest. This is so beautiful. the coloring is gorgeous. I love these feel good colors. We don't have robins where I live but we have a lot of other coloreful birds.
I must have a go at drawing something and coloring like this. It may not look quite like your though LOL.

Hi Chris....
Great drawings...I love the peppers and the robins...You have a lovely style...
I have some artwork on my blog of a Lent Display I did at school...but I guess the Religious subject matter wasn't to anyones taste as I had no comments. I went back to putting a card on! I really want to get back to drawing some cards and keeping an artwork journal...such a relaxing thing to do!....xxxx
