Pen and watercolour sketch

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend and some decent weather to enjoy it in. I'm entering the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge which this week has an anything goes theme with my pen and watercolour sketch from one of my holiday photographs of last year. The pretty doorway is in the beautiful historical town of Pezenas in South Western France, a centre for artists with pretty architecture and narrow streets, nice and cool in the hot sun.

I sketched first in pencil a light basic drawing, added the colour with watercolour crayons and added the details with black Zig Millennium pens 0.2, 0.5 and 0.8 and finally some watercolour spatter.

Enjoy your day :).

Hey Chris -- that's what people say in the Southern United States for hello - Hey! Love your water color sketch. I was hoping it was going to be a new stamp with your sketch. LOL- as much as I have loved following you, I just started really exploring your site yesterday and saw the stamps. Chris you are in real life what I am in my heart. The trip to France sounds wonderful. Why is is that closed doors always hold such romance and intrigue? Beautifully done Chris.

This is fabulous. you are so talented. the door looks awesome with the rambling climbing rose bush.
I would love to have a go at pen and water colour sketching. I used to draw all the time and don't know how I would go at it now.

Fabulous piece of artwork, Chris. I love your sketch and your water colouring is beautiful!
I do folk art, (one stroke), acrylic painting, but have often fancied trying out water colours.
