The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - 'C'

Hi everyone, hope your weekend is going well. At the Craft Barn blog it's the second letter of the
which is
'C' ,

The word I've chosen is 'cage' and I used

Same as last time I've used gesso first over the page, the added colour with distress markers very loosely, stamped the cage image from the Crafty Individuals set and added in some grass and vague flowers at the bottom. I'm still on the lookout for a hard backed dictionary as it's not that easy stamping into this soft cover style and also not easy to photograph but I'll continue in this one until I do. I'm really enjoying the concept of it and it's been lovely to see some of my blog friends joining in and the wonderful pages that everyone has been creating.

The Craft Barn DT have again created some wonderful pages with 'C' and they're all up on the blog today for you to see together with all the details of how to enter.

There's a £20 voucher to be won too so I hope you'll join in.

Have a lovely Sunday :D

Oh now that is superb Chris. Love the way you have got the colour over the gesso in a watercolour effect way. The flowers at the bottom really make a huge difference too. Good luck with your dictionary hunt. Do you have a branch of The Works near you? They tend to have all sorts of books in there. Just a thought. Hugs, Jenny x

Hi Chris, your page is gorgeous, love the soft colours as a backdrop to the boldness of the cage (nice that the door is open as if the bird has freed itself...) and the beautiful flowers at the bottom - quite gorgeous. Jenny is right about the Works, it is worth a try if you have one near. Hugs, Anne x

Chris this is a beautiful scene, so soft and simple but the colors are perfect together. I love the grass and flowers on the bottom. I have a few Hard covered dictionaries, in case you want one to accompany your canvas!?

Great page - love the subtle colouring of the flowers. You've inspired me to get a dictionary to alter in addition to my ATCs!

Just wonderful Chris, have you tried your local charity shops? Not the big national ones but smaller local charities? I find them a good source for these types of things.
Big Congrats on your new spot on the Craft Stamper team, your work is wonderful :)

Visiting from the Alpha Challenge - This is a great page Christine. I love the way you've used gesso and then distress markers. I've tried to resist buying them, but my resolution is wavering, haha :0) Mo
