The Craft Barn Alpha Challenge - Letter V - £20 prize

Hi everyone and I'm back today with the first letter for  the
which is
'V' ,

The word I've chosen is 'voyage' and I've chosen a lovely Crafty Individuals Stamp 'Around the world' to go with the word.

I'm doing the Alpha Challenge in the classic way that I've seen in blogland and admired many times which is to simply stamp into a dictionary and my Dicionary is a little Collins pocket size as I couldn't find a larger hard backed variety in the local charity shops. Depending on the type of stamp I'll be using I'll also use a bit of watered down gesso as I have under this stamp as the paper is very thin. The gesso means that the colouring can be markers which is what I've used here, distress ink markers. I'll also be highlighting the word I've chosen in black pen, unfortunately I couldn't show it clearly this time as I smudged gesso over it but it can be seen again here at the end of the sentance.

The Craft Barn DT have all chosen wonderful and different ways to do the challenge and they're all up on the blog today for you to see together with all the details of how to enter.

There's a £20 voucher to be won too so I hope you'll join in.

Have a lovely Sunday :D

Hi Chris, I have seen these around blogland too and loved them. I like the idea of the smaller dictionary that you have used. That CI stamp is one of my favourites (first CI stamp I ever bought)and you have coloured it so beautifully. Such a great idea. Hugs, Anne x

What a neat idea Chris. Dictionaries are very hard to find in the next to new shops around here and if you find one, it is very expensive. Around the world in 80 days! Another neat idea that has my head whirling!

As a homeschool mom I think about two advantages here, my kids would learn a new word and then they would create art. I like this idea for my self as well. I love the stamp you used for this letter. Now you have me thinking about another project to try! hmmm
