Alice in wonderland

Hi everyone, I hope you've had a good weekend. Nothing but rain here today so I've managed to make a tag at the last minute for Simon Says Stamp and Show where the challenge is 'ever after' and also for Stamping Sensations who have a 'fur and feather' challenge this week.

With the challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show being about fairy tales I decided to use a Mabel Lucy Attwell 'Alice in Wonderland' image from a collage sheet by Nicecrane Designs. the image has a hare so is good for Stamping Sentations fur theme.

I used the image to do a gel medium image transfer and then I matted it onto distress inked card. The background is distress inks, Tim's wrinkle free and flick techniques and I've used a stamp from the Urban Chic set for the background together with a Kasierkraft stamp over the Tim Holtz diamond die cut piece at the bottom. Everything is edged with Gathered Twigs Distress ink, the tag is cut from Ranger card using the Tim Holtz tag and bookplates die and I've also added some painted seam binding, white acrylic paint and some Stampendous aged gold embossing powder here and there. I used some letters from TH plastic letters, can't remember the name of them to spell out Alice and a couple of chit chat stickers for 'in wonderland'.

Enjoy your evening,

Hello Chris, you did capture the magic of Alice in wonderland so well. I love the vintage look, love the bright and rich colors, I read that you used the image to do a gel medium image transfer... is this with the gelli pad??? sorry I am curious about this... Wonderful work as always! Hugs.

Oh my goodness sakes alive --- I just turned on my computer - sitting here enjoying my coffee and a very rainy day and what to my wondering eyes should appear? Your blog popped up first and Chris this tag is really a charmer. I wish my husband would send me away to an art boarding school preferably in England. A year's stay would be nice. Love your tag sweet pea!

Chris...I love your tag! I love the colors you've used and that background is really cool! I also love your Alice stamped and colorized images. They are very unique. I love how you've colored them because they work so perfectly with the colors of your background. The "ALICE" in wonderland at the bottom looks really cool, too. Love the "ALICE"...it looks so cool underneath the gold frame. As always, love your work! Thanks for sharing it with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
