Hi everyone hope your weekend was good. I'm scraping into the last hours of this week's Simon Monday Challenge where the challenge is 'make your own background'. I'm also entering the Mixed Media World challenge of Vintage as I think the panel has an old worn look to it on the square board piece.
I've used an Artcuts heart on top of a 6 inch square chipboard piece and I've made the backgrounds for both with gesso, paints, glaze, Brusho watercolour and acrylic paints.
The board background has roughly applied gesso for texture then layers of paint glazes before stamping with ab Inkyliscious butterfly stamp set and colouring with watercolour pens.
The heart background is created differently using a blocking out technique over butterfly stamped Brusho watercolour background. I used Absorbant Ground to keep the colours bright.
I added some mesh fabric under the heart, ribbon through the hole at the top of the heart and added doodling with various pens to finish off.
Back soon.
