Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good week so far. I realised I haven’t yet blogged some projects that I made for the Craft Barn recently so here are a couple of them starting off with some ATCs made for the CB blog theme of using items from around the house. I chose to make salt backgrounds and did that with the aid of distress inks and PaperArtsy - Kay Carley stamps which are gorgeous. I also made up a step by step which is on the CBblog if you’re interested in seeing how it’s done.
The second project is a recipe box made for Mixing Media Club
last month. I thoroughly enjoyed making this and our lovely group did a recipe swap and brought in goodies made from the
recipes; apart from me that is….I made pear chutney (my first
attempt) and hadn’t taken into account the maturing time so we’ll have cheese
and biscuits and the chutney in our last mixing media of the year.
This is a great little box from Tando which is originally a birthday box, it fits together easily by slotting the pieces together and there are dividers for the inside.
I used PaperArsy Fresco Finish paints in several colours and with the brayering technique that I've used you can get away with using all sorts of combinations of colours....adding in a bit of white or a light colour helps to bring it all together.
The pears are stencilled through a Dreamweaver stencil and this one is a good size for using several paint colours to create dimension. The background and the dividers have also been stamped in paint using an Artemio stamp set.
Back soon,
Chris x

Both projects are beautiful Chris, full of wonderful colour - the Kay Carley flowers are delightful and the box is amazing too - what a great box to use for birthday cards or recipes! Anne x
