Paperbabe Stamps New Release

Hi everyone, hope you're all well! On the Paperbabe Stamps blog there has been a fantastic release week with some gorgeous new frame substrates, stencils, masks and stamps!

I've worked with a brilliant dimensional frame set that works perfectly with the Mad Hatter template as the additional pieces are themed around a pocket watch, teacup and cogs. The set is perfect for all sorts of mixed media treatments and I've used one of my favourite techniques with gesso, inks, antiquing cream and gilding wax.

The base substrate is perfect to create a portrait using the Paperbabe Portrait templates but on this occasion I wanted to create a lot of texture on the base with the new stripes and cogs stencils so I created my Mad Hatter on mixed media card using the male face stamp set, cut him out then applied him over the substrate. I used Inktense pencils to colour with a bit of added pencil and black pen. There is a new set of eye masks which makes layering up the eye stamps very easy and saves all that cutting out.

I added gesso to my board first of all, then used the stripes and cogs stencil set with modelling paste on the right had side and added all the accent paces to the left of the frame where the pieces match up perfectly with the cut edge of the frame, I added more texture with various mediums, gems and glue dots, more gesso was applied when everything was stuck down and dry.

Finally the antiquing cream is applied, the portrait stuck down and everything is highlighted with wax.

All the new products go on sale tomorrow in the Paperbabe Stamps Shop.

Have a lovely weekend!

Chris x

Oh my word Chris what an amazing creation, the colours mixed with the pastes add a completely different dimension to its grungy look. Your Hatter is magnificent, love his lashes. So much detail added with the stroke of a pencil I will be back and forth visiting time after time as I am in love with the whole feel of this marvellous clockwork frame.
Big hugs and Thank you for the inspiration Tracey xx
