A shadow box card today and my first attempt at this kind of card which is for the A spoonful of Sugar challenge! I remember seeing one a while ago but couldn't find it again for the measurements so I made it to fit the largest envelope I have. It was easier to make than I thought it would be, I thought it would be very complicated. I cut two pieces of card slightly shorter than the envelope on all sides, scored each end of each piece at half an inch and one inch and then cut a rectangle out of one of them. On the piece that would be the back of the card I stamped the trees and leaves and watercoloured with Ranger distress inks. Some of the animals were c
oloured with prismacolorpencils and Sansodor, cut out and arranged on the background using the cut out frame as a guide. To go on the front around the frame I embossed a piece of card with the distressed stripes CB folder, cut this in to four pieces, swiped with an ink pad and stuck around the frame. I sponged around all the edges and then arranged the snake, Monkey Mike, the sentiment and some flowers around it. Both pieces of card were then folded on the scored lines and the two outer flaps stuck together to create the box. TFL.
Back soon,
Chris
