Katzelkraft DT - Studio L3 - Simon Says Stamp and Show

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend and a good start to the week. It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a card in a collage style of stamping with the beautiful KTZ85 Chandalier plate.

I started off with white card and used TH's distress misting masks technique over a leaf vine mask which means I can enter my card into lovely Linda's challenge at Studio L3 and also as luck would have it this week the challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is masking so I'm entering that too :D Both of these challenges are always a pleasure to join in with, gorgeous inspiration from Linda at Studio L3 and all the entrants there and from all the DT members at SSSS and I've found a lot of interesting blogs and inspirational art by entering them, I'm really enjoying them both.

I've stamped the scrollwork from the stamp set at the top and then the chandalier to dangle from it also stamping the text stamp over the entire piece. To get some light and dark text I stamped off the ink first on some scrap paper except for the last time in the bottom left corner.

Bottom and right edges were painted with black soot crackle paint, edges were sponged with black soot distress ink and to decorate I added lots of silver pearl pen dots, two decorative metal corners and these and the crackle paint were highlighted with white rub-n-buff.

COC Dabber Resist and SSS&S Anything but a card

Hi everyone, I'm joining in on Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge today which this time is Dabber resist and also Simon Says Stamp and Show where they want anything but a card. I've made Christmas tags to fit the SSSS challenge and used the dabber technique from TH's book to fit the COC challenge. I used TH snowflake stamps, some die cut letters using the Alterations Vintage market die and also white ink, stickles and wrinkled ribbon. I think I'll make more of these for my Christmas presents this year as they're really quick to do. Enjoy your day :)

Compendium of Curiosities 11 and Simon Says Stamp and Show 3

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend so far. I've made a tag today for lovely Linda's Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 11 Blended Batik and also for Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything inspired by Tim Holtz. I've followed TH's technique for the blended batik to make the coloured background of the tag. I've added some gold stamping over the top and lines with a gold pen, some inked leaves, TH's die cut swirl which I've cut to suit, a gorgeous Prima flower, some dimensional gold paper for the corners and some pretty ribbon to finish off. I'm off now to have a look at some of this weeks entries, they're all very beautiful. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

SL3 10 and SSSS 2

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. Rain, rain and more rain here :(! Scraping in on the last day on Linda's Studio L3 challenge 10 Distress Stickles and Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge 2 Wendy Vecchi challenge with my tag. I've taken the acrylic flower from Wendy's blog as my inspiration and cut my acrylic with the TH grunge flower die then stamped over with a polka dot background stamp. The flower layer underneath is cut from grunge paper and I've used the distress stickles technique from the Compendium of Curiosities on that. The tag is also cut from acrylic and the background created with alcohol inks and then I've layered it over some kraft card. Finished off with more distress stickles, ribbon, pearls, a round mirror tile for the flower centre, some hand cut embossed and sanded  green metal leaves and a Paper Artsy text stamp. Compendium of Curiosities Studio L3 - Challenge 7

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good Saturday. I'm entering the challenge over at Linda's lovely blog Studio L3 where it's week seven of the Compendium of Curiosities challenge. The challenge is tinted vision fragments on page 55 of the book. I've had mixed results on this one :D, darker colour around the edges would have helped and I managed to wrinkle my image but it's good to try something different and I've learned how to improve it if I do another.

The image I've used is from a printed Christmas book of images by Crafty Individuals full of vintage angels etc. I've used a canvas to mount the fragment which is painted with lime, buttermilk and pearlescent blue acrylic paint left fairly textured. When the paint was dry I smoothed over it with some Viva Decor glitter gel so it's lovely and sparkly. The edges were inked with Black Soot distress ink and I added some lime raffia ribbon underneath the image fragment and gem swirl.
