BasicGrey Challenge 18 - Digi-print

Hi everyone, I can't believe another week has gone by and it's time for the next BasicGrey Challenge. This week it's digi print and a huge treat for everyone as there's a fantastic free Valentine image to download and print to use for your card by my fabulously talented team mate Kim. Thank you Kim your illustrations are wonderful, full of character and a real pleasure to colour. I chose the gorgeous Valentine girl, she has such a lovely wistful look about her, I wonder who she's day dreaming about? The whole time I was colouring her for some reason the Phil Collins song 'Two hearts' was going through my head so it ended up on my card! I think I'm taking a leaf from the book of my other team mate Tara who crafts to music and uses song titles, and I love that. I used markers to colour and cut the image out with the largest scalloped heart nestie, doodled the song title and dots around the edges and then attached to the card over a layer of BG Wassail paper (it's not just for Christmas LOL)! I used a CB die for the heart corner and the centre pieces from them for the other side of the card, these have all been given a coating of red stickles. Added a red ribbon and doodled faux stitching around the edges on the card blank in white gel pen. I hope you can join in this week and there's some fantastic inspiration from the challenge team. Hope your weekend has started well. TFL.

Materials:
Image: Digi-stamp by Kim (paperbabe), Valentine girl
Colouring: Promarkers
Paper: BasicGrey Wassail, red Canford card
Embellishment: Red organza ribbon, red stickles, CB heart corner die, white gel pen

What a great card Chris. I had put these papers away for next Christmas but having seen this I can see that they could probably be used all year round. Great image also.

Hi Sweetie,
This card is so yummy. Your friend Kim is very talented and so generous to share her digi image. Love the dreamy girl. It will be really interesting to see all the entries as they only have a few images to choose from. Your colouring is rich a sumptuous, I'm not getting on too well with markers. I need more practice.
Great to catch up with you the other day. Can't wait 'til Wednesday!!!!!

Morning Chris.....I adore this card, love the papers you've used with this cute image, just had a look at the images,i'm going to try to join in this week.
Brillant sentiment, made me think of my dad,as old as he was he loved to listen to Phil Collins, and what a great way of finding the right words....i must start putting my CD's on,i tend to craft quietly....maybe thats where i'm going wrong.
The faux stitching finishes the card off beautifully,
Have a lovely weekend
Take care

So that's what it is, Phil Collins! As soon as I saw your card I was singing along but I couldn't remember who the artist was! What a fab idea, perhaps you could suggest that one to Martine for an up and coming challenge.... encorporate a song title or some lyrics into your card?!
You do realise I'll be singing that one all day now, don't you?... 'together for ever...' Sorry, I got sidetracked, lol!
Well, your card is amazing and that paper does work brilliantly! She's such a sweet image isn't she?! I love those glittered hearts too, stunning! I'm waiting for the scalloped Nestie hearts to arrive from the US, you've got me all excited now!
Have a great weekend! xxx

Hi Chris, just love the card, the image is amazing and coloured beautifully! Love the faux stitches, it must have taken you ages to get them soooo neat! I can't get them that neat with my sewing machine LOL. Your card really rocks!

As for the pin you mentioned on my card, I had it from my local sewing shop, all they are, are normal sewing pins which come on a wheel. Some just come with a round head on and some have flowers, hearts etc. I think I may have seen them on Ebay too. Hope you manage to get hold of some.

Chris, your card is sooo pretty and romantic! I love that you used Wassail on it how brilliant is that...it's perfect! The scalloped heart is fabulous. I picked up the plain heart Nesties yesterday but they didn't have the scalloped one but I will be watching for it!
Your colouring is, of course, exquisite and I would have never guessed your stitching was faux...wow...it looks like the real deal...fabulous!!!
