There's some doodling, faux stitching, a Websters pages calendar page, sparkly ribbon, pearl pen and a flower made from punched flower pieces. Thanks as always for your lovely comments.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone, I hope you’ve all been showered with love :)!
A card today for Just Magnolia Challenge and a theme of ‘Love’, Double Dutch where it’s ‘Be my Valentine’, Stamp with fun ‘Hearts’ and The Pink Elephant ‘Mushy, Gushy Valentine’.
I’ve stamped the ever so cute Ladybug Tilda and water coloured her with distress inks, cut her out with a nestabilities die, added lots of stickles, copic spica glitter pen and glossy accents to her spotty jacket. The background paper is also by Magnolia and I’ve faux stitched around the edges of it. There’s a border of white card with punched with the doily lace punch finished off and red dotted ribbon and to finish off I added the Magnolia ‘Loving Wishes’ sentiment which I cut in half after stamping and some clear gems.
Have a cosy evening and TFL.

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
HI everyone, hope you’ve had a good weekend. A card today which was sent to my friend Jo, I know that she’s received it now so I can blog it. I coloured the sweet Blueberry Tilda with distress inks and added lots of stickles and copic glitter pen before cutting her out with an oblong nestabilities die. The background paper is Magnolia blueberry paper in such pretty colours and the scalloped die cut oblong and card blank are Core’dinations card. I added some purple tulle that I got from Tab’s lovely shop, some lilac gems in the corners and some faux stitching to finish off.
I also want to wish Magnolia Stamps all the best at the CHA show in Anaheim, California which started today. If you’re lucky enough to be attending they’d love you to pop into their stand and say hello. I’m sure it’s full of fairytale magic and I certainly wish I was lucky enough to be attending :). The new Magnolia Ink magazine is now available and full of fantastic inspiration from my DT friends, gorgeous projects and how to’s, I just got my copy so I’ll be busy wearing the print off it for a while :D. This might be a good time to show my projects from Magnolia Ink 1, will do that tomorrow probably. TFL.

OCC blue and green

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good week. A card today for OCC where the challenge is to use blue and green. I used the pretty Tilda with presents and modified her so that I could use her for a birthday card by adding a little bow to her hair where there’s a sprig of holly. She’s coloured with distress inks with some spica glitter pen and stickles over the top and cut out with a nesties die. The background paper is by Magnolia, I’ve spritzed it with glimmer mist, faux stitched and distressed the edges and sponged with distress ink. The strip of blue card is is also spritzed with glimmer mist (wish it would show up!), it’s also punched with an EK Success scalloped border punch. TFL.

I’ve stamped the gorgeous Popcorn Bear from the Birthday Hugs set and water coloured with distress inks. There’s lots of stickles and copic spica glitter pen, faux stitching with a blue glitter gel pen and all the edges are sponged with tea dye distress ink. The other layers are strips of white card punched with the MS doily lace punch sponged on the edges with tea dye ink and the card base is from kraft card. I scored around the top of the image on my score board and then used a white gel pen in the groove, punched some slots either side for the blue toile ribbon and added some gems for a bit of sparkle, there’s also some glossy accents on the nose of the bear, the beak and feet of the duck for a bit more texture. TFL.

Still on Christmas

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good week so far and keeping warm. A card today for the ABC Christmas Challenge with a theme of Angels this time. I didn’t manage to use many of my sweet Christmas Tilda’s before Christmas so it’s been nice to get some of them stamped and as I’m determined to have plenty of cards ready for next Christmas I’m going to be entering all the Christmas challenges I can :D. As all Tilda’s are angels I’ve chosen the lovely Tilda with Christmas Tree and water coloured her with distress inks and matted the image on some pretty Magnolia Mistletoe paper. I’ve used the nestability frame for the first time that I got at Christmas and I’ve sponged the embossed parts with walnut stain distress ink. The background is kraft card that I’ve faux stitched to look like quilting and inside the diamonds on the reverse side I did a bit of sculpting with a ball tool. Lots of stickles has been added to the image and liquid pearls in gold on the background and on the Christmas tree. TFL.

Happy New Year

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

hApPy NeW yEaR everyone! I hope you had a good celebration and I wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.

Here’s a new year card which I’m entering into the Cupcake Challenge where the theme is celebration and is back to a more Christmassy looking card after the zingy colours of yesterday. There’s lots of glittery sparkle from the gorgeous background paper which is wrapping paper I saved from one of my presents. I stamped the sweet Jam Tilda and the Magnolia calendar stamp with Memento ink and coloured with copics. I’ve done lots of faux stitching and doodling with white and silver gel pens, cut around Tilda’s legs and then mounted the image panel on dimension tape over the white satin ribbon. There’s lots of silver stickles too dotted around the image. TFL.

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, there’s a new challenge on Colour Create today and it’s a gorgeous Christmassy combo chosen by our lovely Mina, thanks Mina, loved this one, these are my favourite Christmas colours. So the colours are green, red and white and the option is Christmas, hope you can join us this time, there’s some amazing inspiration from my DT friends which will make you want to go off and make Christmas cards :D!! Our sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp so there’s a lovely prize on offer too.
For my card I’ve followed a great sketch on Friday Sketchers which I’m also entering my card into

Jacque78
and I’ve used one of the gorgeous Whiff of Joy gnome stamps, Uru and bird which is coloured with distress inks. The paper is by K&Co from Christmas speciality pad, I’ve sponged all the edges with white ink and done some faux stitching. On the green bazzil card I’ve stamped a magnolia fir tree branch in white ink and then added stickles, I did the same with the flowers but without the stickles. To finish off I added some buttons to the flowers and some chenille fibre to the one at the bottom and a Woodware sentiment stamped in white ink which I’ve gone over with a white gel pen. TFL.

Multi Challenge Card

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Hi everyone, hope you’ve all had a good weekend. I’ve managed to make a card that covers five challenges and it’s not often that that happens for me :), the first is Cute Card Thursday, glitter me silly and my card is well glittered :), can’t seem to make a card without stickles! The Craft Garden has a theme of sparkle too, Secret Crafter have a theme of the four seasons and I’ve chosen winter, By the Cute and Girly have a winter wonderland theme. At Allsorts this week they’d like to see a card for a child and this cute mouse is suitable for that I think.
I’ve used this cute Whiff of Joy Henry Mouse stamp, coloured it with copic markers and then I’ve gone over most of it with a copic spica clear glitter pen, a sakura sparkle gel pen on the step and lots of Stardust stickles. The layers are cut with nestabilities labels dies and the background paper is BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses which is getting a good outing this week, and everything is edge sponged with Tattered Rose distress ink. I’ve done faux stitching with a Pentel white hybrid pigment ink gel pen and I’ve found that this is best white ink pen I’ve used, much better than the inkssentials as the ink is very white and flows really nicely. To decorate I also added some white tulle from the lovely Tab at Tabbycrafts, some glittery flowers and clear gems. TFL.

BasicGrey Challenge 18 - Digi-print

Hi everyone, I can't believe another week has gone by and it's time for the next BasicGrey Challenge. This week it's digi print and a huge treat for everyone as there's a fantastic free Valentine image to download and print to use for your card by my fabulously talented team mate Kim. Thank you Kim your illustrations are wonderful, full of character and a real pleasure to colour. I chose the gorgeous Valentine girl, she has such a lovely wistful look about her, I wonder who she's day dreaming about? The whole time I was colouring her for some reason the Phil Collins song 'Two hearts' was going through my head so it ended up on my card! I think I'm taking a leaf from the book of my other team mate Tara who crafts to music and uses song titles, and I love that. I used markers to colour and cut the image out with the largest scalloped heart nestie, doodled the song title and dots around the edges and then attached to the card over a layer of BG Wassail paper (it's not just for Christmas LOL)! I used a CB die for the heart corner and the centre pieces from them for the other side of the card, these have all been given a coating of red stickles. Added a red ribbon and doodled faux stitching around the edges on the card blank in white gel pen. I hope you can join in this week and there's some fantastic inspiration from the challenge team. Hope your weekend has started well. TFL.

Materials:
Image: Digi-stamp by Kim (paperbabe), Valentine girl
Colouring: Promarkers
Paper: BasicGrey Wassail, red Canford card
Embellishment: Red organza ribbon, red stickles, CB heart corner die, white gel pen

Spring Angel

Hi everyone, I hope there aren't too many sore heads around today LOL! Happy new year to everyone once again, lets hope it's a good one (in the words of the song)! A card today for the Stamp Something challenge where there's a great sketch to follow, I really like this one and will definitely use it again. I've water coloured the cute Whipper Snapper angel with distress inks and I'm currently trying to make up a tutorial for this loose style of water colour as I've had a few requests. I don't have a camcorder or a tripod so I'm still trying to get a little video done as it's really about the brushwork so it would be best to see the movement, I'll try not to talk on it but I can't promise LOL! Hope to have it sorted soon. I've done some sponging around the patterned paper and the scored card and also some faux stitching with a white inksentials pen. Hydrangea flower and gem centre from stash.

Materials:
Paper: Blue Canford card, Laura Ashley Traditional paper pack
Stamp: Whipper Snapper 'Spring Angel'
Ink: Ranger distress inks in black soot, weathered wood, tea dye, broken china, faded jeans, worn lipstick
Embellishment: Score board/scoring tool, water brushes, hydrangea flower, gemstone, white inksentials gel pen, sponge, diamond stickles

Back soon,
Chris

Snowflake

Hi everyone, a card today for Stamp Something with a challenge of 'snow somethings', ABC with a challenge of 'T is for three's', Dutch Dare where the challenge is 'scalloped edges', Sketch Saturday where there's a really great sketch by Mariska and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge with a challenge of 'embossing - dry or heat'. I think I'm only just in the nick of time for two of these, there aren't enough hours in the day at the moment, I know we're all pretty much the same. I've used the lovely Whiff of Joy Charlotte and Reindeer image which is water coloured with distress inks and there's a tiny bit of a teal marker in there too. I've cut out the image and the scalloped square of teal bazzil with nestabilities and mounted on foam tape over a scalloped and CB embossed panel for the centre part of the sketch. I have modified the shape of my card and the elements but the original sketch is still there. The background paper is Bo Bunny and the three snowflakes are cut from ivory bazzil bling with a sizzix die and covered in Cosmic Shimmer glitter jewels inspired by Rach who did some a week or so ago and I loved the idea. Rach's blog is in my sidebar if you'd like to look at her gorgeous creation, she has a link to a tutorial on how to make them. I didn't do the sponging around the edges but used the wet glue and then lightly pressed them into the jewels as per the tutorial. I had to use a different product too. Added some doodling with a marker for stitching, the snowflake sentiment in blue versafine ink and some jewel gems to finish. Hope everyone's Christmas preps are going well, I've barely started and must get on with it while there's still things left to buy!!! TFL.

Four in one

A card for four challenges today! House Mouse and Friends challenge is lace, Friday Sketchers which has a lovely sketch this week by Carole, A Spoon full of sugar where the challege is to use three different ribbons and Papertake Weekly with a challenge to use stitching of some type which can be faux.

I used this cute housemouse and birdie singing a duet and coloured with ranger distress inks, layered on dark blue bazzil and white card that I punched a lacy style border into. I did the same with the Woodware sentiment. The angled square is more of the blue bazzil and Pink Petticoat paper and the bottom layer is also a pretty pink petticoat design paper. I doodled for the stitching element with a black fineliner, added the three ribbons, gems and a green flower with gem to finish. TFL.
