Compendium of Curiosities Studio L3 - Challenge 7

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good Saturday. I'm entering the challenge over at Linda's lovely blog Studio L3 where it's week seven of the Compendium of Curiosities challenge. The challenge is tinted vision fragments on page 55 of the book. I've had mixed results on this one :D, darker colour around the edges would have helped and I managed to wrinkle my image but it's good to try something different and I've learned how to improve it if I do another.

The image I've used is from a printed Christmas book of images by Crafty Individuals full of vintage angels etc. I've used a canvas to mount the fragment which is painted with lime, buttermilk and pearlescent blue acrylic paint left fairly textured. When the paint was dry I smoothed over it with some Viva Decor glitter gel so it's lovely and sparkly. The edges were inked with Black Soot distress ink and I added some lime raffia ribbon underneath the image fragment and gem swirl.

Thanks as always for your comments, they're always read and appreciated.

I literally said "WOW!" when I opened this page, Chris! What a GORGEOUS work of art! The inked fragment looks great (I can't tell that it wrinkled at all!), and the colors are so striking. Beautiful background, too, and the glittering flourish is the perfect touch!

Love it!
