PCS Lily the Fairy

Hi everyone, here's a card I've made for the Pink Cat Studios blog challenge, there's a cute little Lily the fairy image to download and use for your card. I've coloured with inks and markers, cut out with labels nestie dies and matted over another labels cutout in Coredinations card which is embossed and sanded then edge distressed. The background layer is also embossed and sanded and I added some sticky tape and pressed cosmic shimmer glitter jewels onto it which I've seen on a few blogs this week and I think is a brilliant idea. Finished the card with Prima flowers, gems, and an Elzybells sentiment. TFL.

Materials:
Stamps: digital image from Pink Cat Studios, Elzybells sentiment.
Colouring: Ranger Distress inks in dusty concord, worn lipstick, black soot, mustard seed, frayed burlap. Ancient page ink in primrose. Promarkers blush and pastel pink.
Cardstock: Lilac cardstock for base, Coredinations in lilac and pale yellow.
Embellishment: Cuttlebug folders, sandpaper, glue tape, Cosmic Shimmer glitter jewels, edge distresser, Prima hydraenga flowers, gems, stickles glue in stardust.

Secret Message Slider Card

A card for A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge and the challenge is to make a secret message card. I've been wanting to try this style of card for a while as I don't usually make cards that require any kind of construction! My card has a lot more bling on it than usual which hides a multitude of errors and if I make another I'll probably do a couple of things differently. I've learned from this not to use Bazzil Bling for anything that needs folding as the surface splits and not to do afterthought stamping, hence the patterned paper border and flowers to hide the joins! You can find a tutorial on SCS, Hidden Message Slider Card.

I used a perfectly sized, Hangler image, kindly donated by my friend Sandra and coloured her with prismacolor pencils. I added some glossy glaze over the heart and mounted it with dimension tape. The sentiments are from a Hero Arts mini set and were stamped in Versafine black ink. Added the flowers, gems and some scraps of ribbon as a pull for the sliding element to finish. I won't explain how the card is made up as it's a bit long-winded but I think it's a clever idea. TFL.

Back soon,
Chris

I'd Pick You

A card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which was to work from a sketch. I received the cute hedgehog image from a friend and water coloured it with Distress Inks, edged and highlighted with a Sakura glitter pen and matted on Pink Petticoat paper. I cut other pieces of the same PP paper and arranged over the card blank in line with the sketch. The Elzybells sentiment which I think goes perfectly with the PB image was stamped in Versafine black and arranged in the same way. I added Prima flowers with gems and glitter pen to finish. TFL.
