Hi everyone and Happy New Year to you all! A new year and a new online workshop for me 'doodles unleashed' which started this week at Strathmore online workshops with Traci Bautista.
The first workshop was interesting and has given me the prompt to move onto a larger scale. I enjoyed doing this piece from a different perspective, having no end product in mind too. Not sure what I'll do with this, it's A3 in size so I could cut it down and use it on other projects.
Below was the starting point and then another photo after a few layers of ink and paint had been applied. Most of what started as the first layer has been covered up with subsequent layers but the idea is that it gives the starting point.
I'm entering my piece into the Fashionable stamping challenge 'anything goes' with your new stash. I used a new bottle of India ink and Simon Says Stamp and Show have a challenge of 'something old, something new'. I used glimmer mists on the background which I've had for ages and the India ink which is new. The sketchbook challenge blog has a theme of doodling this month so I'm entering that too.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
I'm following the same course. I can't wait to start, it' s very inspiring.

You know I LOVE this, already...
everytime I see it somewhere, I become so glad, theae colors make me long for spring.
It's fabulous, Chris. I couldn't cut that down into smaller sizes! I am stressing for you just thinking about it! Why not just frame it? It would look great on the wall too.
So love the first one especially. Frame it and hang it on the wall Chris, it is gorgeous!
This is so beautiful. Like big sunflowers reaching to the sun and butterflies happily dancing around.
So creative and beautiful. You could keep the original and scan it off to use the print as a DP for some cards.
Just a thought.
Oh WOW, this is too cute! I love what you have created...why not just turn it into a wall hanging and keep it as a piece of art! Love it...
Thankyou for joining us this fortnight at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.
Oh this is so beautiful...amazing how much it changed as you progressed. Can't wait to see what else you come up with on this course.
Hi Chris, this is so beautiful - why don;t you sell the design to a wrapping paper company (not that I know if that is possible, I can so imagine this as a range in Paperchase too!
Your doodle is really pretty and I wouldn't cut it down for use on other projects, just darken the background in a few places to give it more depth and frame it! It's a work of art! Looks like a fun class and maybe your hand was tired when it was all over? I'm curious what type of pen was used for the white as that's such a hard color to get to work over other mediums.
WoWSER how do you do it missus!!! this is out of this world and I couldnt cut that up for a pencion I would have to frame it, its remarkeable!!!!! ruddy brilliant!! huggies June xx
Such lovely colors and textures ...love the effect you have created.
This looks amazing Chris
Why don't you just frame it, it's gorgeous!
Agree with Tine...I can see this framed and hanging on my wall!! Absolutely beautiful, Chris. Hugs, Janet xx
