Last year I joined in with Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas, managed to get them all done BEFORE Christmas :-) for once and used them all on my Christmas presents which is a big success. I wanted to do it again this year but of course TH has changed the format of the 12 tags this year and was thinking about how I would do it when found out that Linda, the funkie junkie from the Funkie Junkie Boutique is sponsoring her own twelve tags of Christmas. The challenges started in September and run until 17th December with lovely prizes to be won for entering a tag for all the weeks. I'm on a major catch up with them but have managed to make seven so far which I'll be sharing over the next week or two.
For this first tag I was inspired to use TH's marbling technique that Linda used for her background as I didn't have great success with this previously. It came out better this time and changed my colours to blue tones with rust coloured accents from the rusty metal heart, the ribbon that I dyed to match with distress stains and the TH ideology washers and brads. Inspired from Linda's as well as the background and the heart I went with stars and the numbers which I covered in silver stickles, wings cut with a Magnolia DooHickey wing die from fabric and the glittered background stamping where I used a large TH flourish stamp, heat and bond powder and Stampendous glitter.
So my tag is similar but different to Linda's and I love all the sparkle and knew who's present this would go on before it was finished :).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hi Chris. It is lovely & sunny in the north-west of England too - quite a frost first thing this morning to scrape off the car's windscreen!

Hi Chris. Grey, wet and miserable in Dublin alas so your gorgeous sparkling tag looks all the better my dear! Especially love the edging around the heart and tag itself. Have a lovely week. Nicola x
Hey Miss Priss - Chris, this is another endearing Southern term. As you will realize over time, I will be using several of these kinds of names with you. They are all meant with a great deal of love. Your tag is gorgeous -- hmmm - I think I should know as I am looking at it right now. If anyone could catch up I know that you can!!! Linda is one of my most favorite artists and I love her store. You two would make a fabulous team that's for sure!!!!! Chris your tag is beautiful. What did you use for the little bronze dots around the tag? I love the texture and the transparency for the wings. Perfectly beautiful!!

Hi Chris, your tag is absolutely stunningly gorgeous!! I love the blue background, the stars, the heart, but most of all those sparkles around the heart and the tag, you have managed to make them look like beautiful diamonds - wow, now that really is the bling factor. LOVE it. Hugs, Anne x

Hello Chris and welcome to the 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style! I'm thrilled to have you playing along with us this year. Your tag is lovely! I think your blue marbled stains BG came out fantastic - LOVE all the sparkle and those wings - oh my, they are sensational. Are they die cut from crinoline? Just a beautiful piece of work.
Again, welcome to the challenge. Hope you will be able to complete all 12. Looking forward to seeing more!
