Faberge inspired butterfly
Hi everyone! Hope your weekend was good. It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a wall hanging inspired by Faberge which I'm entering into the challenges of 'twine' and the colour challenge of 'red and gold' at Gingersnap Creations (that's if I'm allowed to enter both with one piece, not sure), hope you'll pop over there as they have some lovely challenges, gorgeous art and techniques etc.
I've used the lovely 'Physalis et Petits Oiseaux' plate which is a versatile set and great for making backgrounds. My butterfly is a piece of chipboard cut on my die cutting machine, then covered with white stamping card and it's about eight inches wide. I stamped the flower and embossed with gold powder then sponged with fired brick and wild honey distress ink to fit in with the colour theme. There's twine to hang the butterfly from and also for the antennae to fit the twine challenge at Gingersnaps. To try and get the Faberge jewelled look I added some die cut swirls sprayed with gold cosmic shimmer spray, a prima enamel style flower, gems large and small and lots of pearl pen dots.
Enjoy your day!
