Brusho Fun - Craft Barn

Hi everyone, it's been a while, hope you're all well. I wanted to share a project that I made for the 'All things Christmas' club at the Craft Barn last week. Not a Christmas project but I create items that can be given as gifts as well. The lovely ladies that come along are great fans of Brusho paints just as I am and all their canvases were a delight to see when they were finished.

I used a canvas but worked on the back so that I had a recess to play with. The staples and folded over canvas corners were hidden with grunge paste and then painted over with PaperArtsy Snowflake white paint. The Brusho paints were then sprinkled over and spritzed with water to activate them. I wanted to keep some white areas showing so I didn't completely cover with the Brusho's. I used a combination of Alizirin Crimson, Leaf Green, Lemon Yellow and a tiny hint of Turquoise paints.

In the recess I've worked on some Stampbord one inch tiles with Alizirin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, and a touch of Orange Brusho's spritzed for a lovely autumnal watercolour effect. I stamped the tiles with a lovely Woodware nine leaf print stamp and then arranged the tiles into the canvas using gel medium to stck them down.

Later I scratched into the tiles with a scratching tool for some highlights but didn't photo that part unfortunately, I may update the post later.

I've added my project to the Simon Monday Challenge blog where they have a theme of ombré.

Back soon.

Hi Chris,

Lovely work as always.
I hear on the grapevine that the CB is closing its bricks and mortar shop, and with the GP too I'll have to get my stuff online!
Although I've done sod all recently but it's coming up to that time of year isn't it? Hope all well with you.

Beautiful Chris - I sure wish you would do some online tutorials. The wonderful canvas you sent me is hanging in my new craft room where I can see it all the time!
