The Craft Barn Wishing Well - Embossing Paste

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a good week. The Craft Barn Wishing Well this week is all about embossing pastes and stencils. Lots of lovely inspiration from my design team friends through the week and today there's an explanation of how I made my project so I hope you'll pop over and have a look at what we've all been doing :D.

Materials: Chipboard, Dreamweaver Paste - Glossy White, Distress inks - Broken China, Chipped Sapphire, Forest Moss, Fired Brick,Scattered Straw, Self Adhesive canvas. Tando - Butterflies, Tando Mask - Sequin Waste, Brilliance Ink - white, Grunge PaperKatzelkraft Grillage Stamp, Sizzix alterations dies: Mini Butterflies and hardware, self adhesive gems, Ranger pearl shimmer spray, White Gesso, string, Rub 'n' buff - white, white pen and the end of a round eraser!

Craft Barn Wishing Well - Gesso part 2

Hi everyone, it's Part two of the current Craft Barn wishing well which is all about Gesso with some great ideas of ways to use it and a photo step by step from me and from my DT friend Isa.  

I used gesso on my tag as a resist with distress inks and then decorated with lots of goodies which are available at The Craft Barn.

Materials: Gesso, Ranger No. 8 tag, Ranger distress inks, Crafty Individuals Big Swirl Stamp, Katzelkraft Nature plate, Sizzix Alterations Movers and Shapers die - mini butterfly set, mini misters, cosmic shimmer mica powder, Beeswax, Melt pot, Viva Decor pearl pens, flowers, self adhesive pearls, white gel pen

The Craft Barn - Wishing Well - Friendly Plastic 2

Hi everyone, it's Part two of the current Craft Barn wishing well which is all about Friendly Plastic . Our talented guest designer Neil started the wish yesterday with an amazing Friendly Plastic box and today I'm showing a little necklace pendant I made from FP and using the extrusion technique that Liz Welsh very kindly demoed last September. 

I've worn the necklace a few times and I'm very pleased with it, there's actually lots of sparkle from the Cosmic Shimmer fibres which unfortunately doesn't show up in the photographs.

I used some very pretty blue Friendly Plastic, Cosmic Shimmer fibres, cookie cutter, heat gun, glossy accents, a heat resistant mat and an iron. At The Craft Barn blog there's a photo step by step of how I made the pendant and the new challenge starts tomorrow. Hope you can join us

The Craft Barn - Wishing Well - Glitter

Hi everyone, it's Part two of the current Craft Barn wishing well which is all about glitter . For my sample I've used the burnished/velvet glitter technique to make my circus themed card using Katzelkraft Cirque 01 stamps, Tim Holtz Alterations Paper Rosette Die, double sided adhesive sheet,  Crystal ultra fine glitter and distress inks. The Craft Barn - Wishing Well - Viva Decor Products

Hi everyone! It's the start of a new Wishing Well on the Craft Barn Blog starting with my project and step by step today and followed by some wonderful inspiration tomorrow from Kathy and on Friday from Isa together with the new challenge. 

Julie's wish to see some projects with Viva Decor products is being granted, congratulations Julie and I hope you enjoy your prize. I hope you'll join the challenge for this wishing well starting on Friday with another lovely prize to be won.

I've used three Viva Decor products to make my wall hanging which are Terra (Sahara), Precious Metal Paints in Rose Pink, Pistachio and Mother of Pearl. For decoration I used a Viva Decor Pearl Pen in White. I made a grunge paper rose with the Paper Artsy Grunge Flower die set and painted this and the hand cut leaf and punched butterflies with the Precious Metal paints.

Above is how the Terra looks after it's been spread onto the Tim Holtz Alterations Baroque Die cut chipboard, stamped with Katzelkraft stamps from Chandalier  and Cirque 01 sets then left to dry. It looks lovely unpainted in this colour and comes in lots of earth tone colours.

I used the beautiful Precious Metal Paints again for the project above which is one of the Craft Barn's Range of alterable ceramic pieces and inspired by Craft Barn tutor Carole's beautiful work with metal.

Craft Barn Wishing Well - Kylon and Dominoes part 2

Hi everyone and it's part two of the Craft Barn Wishing Well Krylon and Dominoes wish from Lisa which started yesterday with Isa's fantastic step by step. Today there's another gorgeous step by step which Michelle has made and my sample above on the blog together with the materials we used, hope you'll pop over and have a look and of course you can add your own wish to the wishing well post. Trish's wish has been granted by Michelle with some fantastic ideas for using and organising paper scraps. The rest of my DT friends have been adding their wonderful ideas for scraps too and today I have my card and step by step to show using ribbon scraps on the Craft Barn blog. Hi everyone! Another wishing well day at the Craft Barn blog today and this time we're using Friendly Plastic which is a wish granted for Christa-Peter who wins a prize for having her question picked and wanted to know what could be done with it.  On the Craft Barn Blog there are wonderful tutorials by Michelle and Isa and the chance of a prize for leaving a comment to let everyone know what you think :).

The materials list for my card is on the blog and to make my Friendly Plastic centre piece I heated the FP with my heat gun and then stamped into it with the Crafty Individuals tree stamp. I left the stamp in the plastic until it had cooled before removing it.

Craft Barn Wishing Well - Shrink Plastic

Hi everyone! Another wishing well day at the Craft Barn blog today and this time we're using shrink plastic which is a wish granted for Christine C who wins a prize for having her question picked and wanted to know about inks etc., that can be used on shrink plastic.  On the Craft Barn Blog there's a wonderful tutorial by Kay with lots of her gorgeous samples using different colouring mediums on the shrink together with a beautiful sample and 'how to' from Isa for another completely different look :D.


I used alcohol ink on my shrink plastic after die cutting it with Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations dies and used it to decorate a large wooden peg.
