Hi everyone, there’s a new challenge on Colour Create today and it’s a gorgeous Christmassy combo chosen by our lovely Mina, thanks Mina, loved this one, these are my favourite Christmas colours. So the colours are green, red and white and the option is Christmas, hope you can join us this time, there’s some amazing inspiration from my DT friends which will make you want to go off and make Christmas cards :D!! Our sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp so there’s a lovely prize on offer too.
For my card I’ve followed a great sketch on Friday Sketchers which I’m also entering my card into

Jacque78
and I’ve used one of the gorgeous Whiff of Joy gnome stamps, Uru and bird which is coloured with distress inks. The paper is by K&Co from Christmas speciality pad, I’ve sponged all the edges with white ink and done some faux stitching. On the green bazzil card I’ve stamped a magnolia fir tree branch in white ink and then added stickles, I did the same with the flowers but without the stickles. To finish off I added some buttons to the flowers and some chenille fibre to the one at the bottom and a Woodware sentiment stamped in white ink which I’ve gone over with a white gel pen. TFL.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 51

Hi everyone a card today for Friday Sketchers who this week are celebrating their first anniversary. Congratulations! I haven't entered for a while but this challenge was one of the first challenges I found when I started blogging so I wanted to enter this week. I've followed the sketch but used ribbon instead of paper or card for the panels. My image is 'Poppies' soon to be available in the digi-shop. This drawing was inspired by my blogging buddy Tara G who very kindly sent me some beautiful red poppy paper a while ago which I loved and I mentioned at the time that I liked it so much I should draw some poppies, so now I have. I've watercoloured them with distress inks and added some stardust stickles here and there then torn the paper and sponged the edges with black and around the flowers with old paper. The gingham paper is digital and the beautiful crochet flower was from the lovely Bev (thank you Sweetie), everything else from stash. See you tomorrow with my DU2DS card. Chris x

Alota Bug - Friday Sketchers

Hi everyone, a card today for Friday Sketchers and a lovely sketch to follow by Emily. I've used my cute Alota Rubber Stamps bug in present which is watercoloured with Distress Inks and then cut out. The papers are from the WRMK Nonense pad and are glittered, beautifully sparkly and such rich colours and bold patterns, so this is probably the busiest looking card I've ever made, not too sure about it on the whole! All the paper edges have been distressed and I've added lots of buttons over the ribbon, a little cut out frame which came with the paper pack as the tag element of the sketch and a sentiment by Woodware. TFL, Chris x

Mimi and Snowman

Hi everyone, a card today for Friday Sketchers and a really great sketch by Carole, Cute Card Thursday with a challenge of 'Lilac', OCC and a challenge of 'Snowmen or snowflakes', Arty Girlz where the challenge is 'favourite colours' and finally Stamp Something with a challenge to include some black in your card. Once again lots of lovely challenges to combine!

I've used my gorgeous 'Mimi and Snowman' stamp designed by the incredibly talented Janet Roberts at Pink Gem Designs. Janet's new stamps are all so gorgeous, stamp beautifully and are wonderful to colour. I water coloured my image with distress inks, distressed the edges, stamped the sentiment and snowflake and then mounted on black card over the various layers of Lilac/violet bazzil card. Everything is mounted on a violet card blank which I scored for some texture and to finish I did some doodling and added the gem and fibre. TFL.

Bee Costume

Hi everyone, I accidentially uploaded the new Christmas blog header I've made when I was testing it out but as I'd done it, I decided to leave it even if it is a bit early, it makes me feel more Christmassy. A card today for Friday Sketchers where there's a great sketch to follow from Bea, Dutch Dare and a challenge of 'three flowers' and ABC with a challenge of 'ribbon'. The Penny Black 'Bee Costume' image (Tx) is marker coloured, stickled, edge sponged/distressed and layered over Black Magic card which is also edge distressed/torn, scored and slightly sanded and gorgeous lime spotted Scenic Route paper which was part of my prize from the House Mouse challenge a couple of weeks ago. Added ribbon, flowers, more stickles and Imaginisce sentiment to finish. It seems to be all tall cards this week, it's nice for a change but they're definitely harder to photograph! TFL.

Reindeer Games

Hi everyone, a card today for High Hopes where the challenge is 'buttons and brads', Papertake Weekly with a challenge of 'Snow' and Friday Sketchers which has a great sketch this week by Mumur. The High Hopes 'Reindeer Games' stamp is marker coloured and highlighted for the snow element with white inkessentials pen and glamour dust (it's so lovely and sparkly IRL) and sponged around the edges with Ranger distress ink. The papers are all Basic Grey 'Wassail' which I've cut in line with the sketch and edged with a distressing tool. Added buttons and sparkly snowflake brads from stash to decorate along with the sentiment which is corner punched, edged with distress ink and a distressing tool. TFL.

Pink Petticoat Yoo Hoo

My card today is for Friday Sketchers which has a lovely sketch this week with a circular element and an SCS Inspiration challenge which featured wedding cakes.

I've used a Pink Petticoat downloaded image from the Yoo Hoo set which is perfect for this card and already includes the sentiment and I coloured it with primsacolor pencils and Sansodor. I cut the image out with nestabilities and cut two scalloped pieces of sage and peppermint bazzil card for the mats. The DP is Basic Grey Euphoria and I layered this over the white card blank which is embossed with the cuttlebug textile embossing folder to give an impression of icing. The image mats were placed on dimension tape and then I dotted stickles around the scallops, I wanted to use perfect pearls again for dots of icing but they've disappeared off the face of the earth since yesterday!!! I cut slits at the top of the card to take the two ribbons and added gems to finish. TFL.

Back later,
Chris
