Hi everyone and welcome to the Paperbabe Stamps September Release and today we are showcasing the character stamps which from Friday will be available in rubber - great for those who prefer rubber stamps over clear or digi's. I've used two of the character stamps today and gone with a Halloween theme starting with MayLeeDee Witchily with her accompanying sentiment and coloured her with pencils. The background is watercolour crayon and I've added a snowflake stamp from the MayLeeDee frost Fairy set as a star for the sky.
My second project uses Dillon Magic and a technique that can only be done with a stamp made of rubber. I've made this ghostly enamelled tag by stamping into hot black utee (extra thick embossing enamel) which I flecked with mica powders and glitter.
I gave the tag three coats of the Utee and added the glitter and mica to the final layer. While the enamel was still hot I inked the stamp with red pearlescent ink and stamped into it, after allowing the utee to cool I released the stamp to find the relief of the stamp impressed into the tag. I repeated this on the bottom right of the tag where I stamped the accompanying sentiment stamp in the same way as before but taking care not to heat too much and melt the character stamping. I've highlighted the raised surface of the tag with gold gilding wax to add to the ghostly effect and bring the shape of the stamps out more from the black background.
I hope you've enjoyed the first day of samples if you've come from Paperbabe Stamps blog, there are gorgeous inspirations from my talented teamies.
See you tomorrow with my beach babe sample.
