Stampendous - Laurel Burch - Blossoming Woman

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. I finished a tag today with more of the Stampendous Laurel Burch stamps and this set is blossoming woman. A great set which has the woman, separate flowers and a couple of styles of earrings so there are lots of options to give her different looks.

I've coloured entirely with pencils and masked the flowers around the top and bottom before stamping the woman.

A nice relaxing colouring playtime and these stamps are lovely to colour as they have a simple folk art style that lends itself to easy colouring.

Back soon,

Chris x

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #40 - Inspiration Photo

Hi everyone, it's the start of a new challenge at Paperbabe Stamps today and this fortnight we have a photograph as inspiration to work from. As always a great prize is on offer for the winner and we hope you'll join us even if you don't have Paperbabe Stamps.

I used one of my all time favourite Paperbabe stamps, MayLeeDee Kimono, it's a while since I coloured her and I've enjoyed making a little woodland scene around her by masking her with sweet stamps from the newly released Whimsical Woodland stamps Whimsical Woodlands stamp set 3 (Bunny) and Whimsical Woodlands Stamp Set 4 (Butterfly). I also coloured a little fibreboard mushroom from the Whimsical Woodland Fibreboard Substrate kit as an embellishment.

Startrish design - Whimsey Girl Four

Hi everyone, I've the great pleasure of introducing one of the gorgeous new Whimsey Girl Stamps from lovely Trish Latimer. This is the delightful Whimsey Girl Four and again she's a dream to colour in. This stop and all the others in the range can purchased at Startrish Design on Etsy.

I've coloured in pencil with a nice bright palette. She's been cut out which is very quick with Trish's thoughtful design.

I created an equally bright background using PaperArtsy infusions powder paints and pearlescent glaze and over the top I've stencilled with white paint through a TCW stencil which has had some pencil added on top of the paint.

To finish off I added some doodling and shading, Tim Holtz Rub-ons, big chat sticker and some glitter paper.

Back soon,

Chris x

Paperbabe Stamps June Release - MDF Portrait Media Blanks

Hi everyone, it's a lovely week of introductions at Paperbabe Stamps blog and it's my day today with Kim's innovative new line of MDF Portrait Media Blanks, I'm showcasing 'Wavy Bunches'. These great kits are easily glued together with ordinary pva glue and each kit comes with comprehensive instructions and they work with Kim's mini face stamps.

As you can see from the kit picture above there are several layers of head and shoulders and hair with two tops in different styles with some insert pieces to give height, a piece that has a hanging hole if you want to put it on the wall and the stand if you want her free standing. Each of the styles you see above is a separate kit.

The MDF is great to colour on, I used a combination of paint and pencils. I coloured all of the face and neck with pencil and stamped the Female Face Mini stamp set and then I painted the top and hair. I used the Butterfly Pieridae stamp set stamped in black Archival ink embellished with white pen. I added dimension to the hair over the top of the paint with ordinary graphite pencil. I've added some pen work on her eyes too.

All the kits will be on sale tomorrow in Paperbabe Stamps shop and there's lots of inspiration from Kim on the Paperbabe Stamps Blog with links to my teamies who are joining in each day.

Thanks for visiting today.

Paperbabe Stamps July Release

Hi everyone, today is the start of the Paperbabe Stamps July release and it really is a marvellous release with lots of new goodies! We're kicking off with some gorgeous red Rubber stamps. MayLeeDee in Wonderland previously available as a digi is now also in rubber and to go with her Kim has designed Dillon hatter in rubber as well as a digi.

I've stamped onto kraft card and coloured with pencils but then I've added extra interest with black, white red and wink of stellar pens.

There's a great large chequered background stamp which is perfect for the Alice in Wonderland scheme and also a pretty roses boarder stamp. I cut my roses stamp apart so I could stamp individually and I've used them in the backgrounds for pattern on both cards and also made an embellishment from one of the solid roses by stamping, cutting out with a slight white border, inking with a wink of stellar clear brush pen and then adding dimensional clear glue.

I've used the chequered background on both cards and I find that I have better stamping results by leaving the stamp face up on my table, inking then laying the card on top of it. I then either add a piece of printer paper and smooth over the design with my hands or use a brayer to transfer the image.

The release will be available to purchase on Saturday at Paperbabe Stamps. I'm back tomorrow with part two of the July Release.

Paperbabe Stamps May Release

Hi everyone, It's the first day of reveals for the May release and today it's Kim's fantastic kawaii emoticon inspired Adorimal digital images.

I've taken one of the bunny images, coloured her pink, gave her a face using the small animal features stamp set and an acrylic painted background behind her.

I also made a card and tag set with another of the gorgeous bunny digi's and one of the bear heads then gave them their faces with the features stamp set, I used sentiment stamps from the Happy Thoughts set to finish off. They're all so cute it was hard to decide which ones to use first. There are so many different options and combinations with the digi's and the stamps which is great value and many ways to use them I'm sure, I think they'd be great for stickers printed out on to label sheets.

There's inspiration from Kim on the Paperbabe Stamps blog and gorgeous designs from my DT friends as well.

I'll be back tomorrow with the new stamps reveal.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge midway post

Hi everyone, I'm back today with a midway challenge inspiration post for Paperbabe Stamps and a Journal page I created using the 'profile face' stamp set, the 'profile templates' and the 'a lot like Christmas' stamp. There's still time to enter the challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog and you can enter even if you don't have Paperbabe stamps.

I first drew around the cut out templates in pencil and they're very easy to line up due to the markers Kim has added to the outlines. I mapped out my base coat with distress markers, just a light colouring for placement and then I rubbed out the pencil.

I followed up the markers with pencils and a bit of white pen. In the background I've coloured with gelato watercolour sticks and stamped with stars from the profile face set and the text stamp inLuxe inks. I also added some hand written text in black and white ink.

I hope you'll join us in the challenge and have a lovely weekend.

I've added some quotes from the book around the card to finish off. Everything is in the shop now ready for purchase and there'll be inspiration from Kim on the Paperbabe Stamps blog.

Paperbabe Stamps April Release

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good week so far. Today is preview day 1 for Paperbabe Stamps April release and we're working with the new Doll Face mini set which is a great addition to the collection, it's the perfect size for cards. Kim has also designed some great new mixed media templates that can be cut out then drawn around to create head and shoulders and hair styles to go with the doll face stamps faces, they can also be used as a drawing aide which takes all the pain out of creating mixed media portraits.

I wasn't able to work with the templates for my card today unfortunately but I know they're going to be used very soon as all the styles are gorgeous.

My mixed media style card uses the doll face mini stamps over a background of gelato watercolour with some stencilling of hearts, letters and numbers. I further coloured with pencils and added detailing with black and white pens. I stamped a sentiment from the Just Because stamp set and mounted the face panel onto a white card blank with dimensional foam to finish.

There's lots of inspiration from my DT friends at the Paperbabe Stamps blog and I'm back tomorrow with my next sample.

The Ribbon Girl guest designer card

Hi everyone, I'm back today with my card for a guest designer spot at the Ribbon Girl blog. It's such a treat to have been asked to participate as the Ribbon Girl is where I buy gorgeous ribbons and other pretty goodies for my cards. Thank you Mary and Andrea for the invite!

My card is for the May Card challenge with a theme of numbers and I've coloured a sweet Gorjuss girl image on kraft card in pencil over a background of stamped numbers.

Products from the Ribbon Girl are the hessian fabric which I've fringed by pulling threads, the wired edges hessian ribbon, the green lace, all of the flowers, the Melissa Frances resin corners and the bead string.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Magnolia-licious DT - Penny Black Winter Tag

Hi everyone, hope your're having a good week so far. I have a tag to show today for Magnolia-licious DT using the gorgeous Penny Black Stamp Set 'Mimi's Winter Fun', which is full of sweet images for winter.

Mimi and the little seal pup are coloured with pencils and the background with gelato sticks. I added some extra snowflakes to take the snowflake design in the stamp right up the tag and I've used a white gel pen outlined with black for that. To finish the tag I added lots of stardust stickles, some bakers twine and a couple of chit chat stickers.

Paperbabe Stamps Decemeber Release - MayLeeDee Winter Fairy

Hi everyone, hope your week's been good, it seems to have whizzed by for me with this fantastic December release from Paperbabe Stamps.

Everything is now for sale in the shop at Paperbabe Stamps including the final part of the release which is a gorgeous new digi image
MayLeeDee Winter Fairy

She's gorgeous to colour and I did that with pencils after printing her out on some Bazzil Kraft card (I find this is a nice shade and it goes through my printer easily as it's lightweight).

I used a couple of sentiment stamps, snowflakes and one of the small tree group stamps from the gorgeous  Bottle Brush Tree stamp set and stamped the sentiment in black and everything else in white ink.

I've decorated with iridescent sequins, some die cut snowflakes and lace. Hope you have a great weekend, I have to seriously get down to doing Christmas cards and tags so I hope to have some of  the them on here soon.

Magnolia-liscious - Wee Stamps Card

Hi everyone, I'm back today with a card for Magnolia-liscious and with a sweet Wee Stamps image WEE 114 Sam's Special Delivery. I've coloured Sam with pencils and with watercolour markers and created a pencil and watercolour scene behind him. The image panel is mounted on foam tape for some dimension, doodled around the edges with a rub on sentiment and number and to finish off I found a lovely enameled apple charm in my box that seemed perfect for this card and the very special lady that it's being sent to.

Back soon with a mixed media canvas and thank you as always for the lovely comments, they're always appreciated.

Paperbabe Stamps - September Lauch Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the
September Launch Blog Hop!

Kim and her friends are doing a hop a long to introduce the new stamps with samples as they go up for sale in the shop today! I've worked with MayLeeDee Witchily and what a pleasure she is to colour in all her beautiful guises! I also worked with the Cumulus cloud background stamp which is another stamp that will be a favourite stamp to use in many ways.

After colouring MayLeeDee with pencils and sponging a distress ink background I went on to stamp the cloud background in Faded Jeans distress ink and when dry I attached a piece of double sided adhesive sheet to the image. After removing the top protective sheet I sprinkled the adhesive a transparent fine glitter and after removing the excess buffed with a soft cloth (burnished glitter technique) to give a really gorgeous sparkle to the cloudy background.

The rest is fairly simple, some brightly coloured flora and greenery a chit chat sticker, some die cuts and pearls to decorate. Hope you enjoy the blog hop and if you need to start at the beginning then pop over to Paperbabe Stamps blog for all the details.
