Canvas Swap

Hi everyone, Back today with a long overdue post of my canvas swap with my lovely blog friend Kelly in the USA, apologies for the delay Kelly! We swapped canvases a while back, we both enjoy making these art doll (Christy Tomlinson style) canvases and it's always fantastic to receive art from a friend. A lot of work and thought has gone into the creation and there's always a feeling for the person I find with these. I've always fancied a fishtail dress too....very glad to see that I have one :D. I love the colour scheme, perfect for my surroundings, the patterned paper, all the sparkle, feathers, tiny details, wonderful flowery background (she knows I love flowers, butterflies and hearts) are superb and really can't be done justice to by a photograph.

 I have tried to capture the sparkle it's very pretty.

 I saw the pretty pastel shades butterflies, stars and flowers for Kelly and used acrylic paint and stencils for the background. The dress is cut from a larger hand painted doodle type background piece and the body is cut from book page. I used decoupage glue to stick the pieces to the canvas.. I added some gems to the waistband and a chitchat sticker to decorate.
