Sweet Peas

Hi everyone a card today for Stamp Something where this week the challenge is 'Birthday Somethings'. I think I may have made it for this challenge by the skin of my teeth, hope so anyway. I've used my 'Sweet Peas' image available at Sketching Stamper Digi-stamps and coloured with markers. When the image was dry I spritzed over it with pearl glimmer mist which is a lovely effect that my friend Kim showed on her blog and I thought looked so lovely, I've also done this to the flowers. Thanks for the inspiration Kim! The image is matted on purple Bazzil card that I've scalloped at the edge with my cutting blade and I've then threaded the thin ribbon through holes punched into the scallops. The background paper is Doodlebug and I've used some candy dots by craftwork cards in the flower centres and a Craftwork Cards sentiment oval. Did a bit of doodling around the edges of the card blank to finish. TFL, back soon. Chris

Bearing Love

Hi everyone, I'd just like to thank you all for the lovely comments and good wishes yesterday for my new venture with the digi-stamps, it's very much appreciated. Special big thank you to Sally-Ann and Janet for their support. My list isn't endless unlike Kate Winslets' so I'll stop here!

I intended to have this card posted yesterday but time ran away, it's for the SCSC where the challenge this week is hearts. I've used my Bearing Love digi-stamp (link at top of sidebar) and coloured with promarkers then sponged with distress ink. The layers are chocolate brown coredinations card which is distressed on the edges and Doodlebug sparkly hearts paper (it hurt to cut it, but I did and it's beautifully sparkly IRL), they're mounted with dimension tape. To decorate I added brown satin ribbon, punched three hearts from the Doodlebug paper and sponged round the edges of the white card blank with distress ink.

Vase of hearts

Hi everyone, a card today for Stamp Something where the challenge this week is 'no stamping allowed'! I've used one of my digital images which will be available soon as a download and coloured with markers which hopefully counts as no stamping as no stamps were hurt in the making of this card! The image is matted on red card over a layer of gorgeous Doodlebug 'Love Potion' flocked paper which is perfect for the image. There's also a layer of pink glitter card and a layer of red over the white card blank. The image panel and heart paper are mounted on dimension tape and I added a red ribbon and gem to finish. TFL.

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone and here we are on new years eve so I'd like to wish you all a very happy new year!
I have a hopeful bird on my card today which is for the ABC Challenge of 'Underneath' which I've interpreted with my scoring being underneath the image panel!! I've stamped with black versafine and then used a blue glitter gel pen on a few of the flowers and swirls. On the card blank I scored some lines on my scoreboard for some texture, matted the image on black card, added the sentiment, a blue gem and the doodlebug blue and black check ribbon. Whatever you're doing tonight I hope you have a great time and see you in the new year!

Basic Grey Challenge 14 'So charming'

Hi everyone, here's my card for the Basic Grey Challenge and my first card as a member of the Design Team. I was thrilled to find out that I'd been chosen as I know how many amazingly talented crafters out there had also entered and how difficult it was for Martine to choose which is why she ended up with five instead of three! I'm very much looking forward to the weekly challenges and working with the incredibly talented members of the team who are all lovely and fun. I also look forward to seeing the creations of everyone who joins in with the challenges every week and finding some new blogs to stalk!

I've used BG Ambrosia papers and a native American image by Rubbernecker stamps. The image is marker coloured, cut out and layered over the paper which has been embossed with the branches CB embossing folder then sponged with black distress ink. I cut another piece of Ambrosia paper and layered these onto the blue card blank after distressing the edges and sponging. To continue the native American Indian theme I made a little dream catcher embellishment from a circle of the blue card cut with nestabilities. The web effect is made by knotting embroidery cotton and looping it around in layers until you get to the centre. I added beads, doodling, feathers and a little flower charm then mounted it on dimension tape as I did with the image. The sentiment is a Doodlebug rub on and I've added doodling around that and the card base and stickles to the image. TFL.

Little Hanglar boy

Hi everyone, here's a card for A Spoon full of sugar where the challenge is 'a card for a child', Everybody Art Challenge and a colour challenge of blue and brown and Papertake Weekly where there's a great sketch by Dawny which I love if only I could work out how to do those inverted corners! If anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be grateful. I ended up hand cutting them and they're bigger than I would have liked although I do quite like the effect. I tried using a circle punch but that wouldn't work when part of it was off the paper! Back to the card, I used a very precious Hangler image (Sandra x), marker coloured it and sponged the edges. Added a rub on sentiment on a nestie cut circle and mounted over the background of I think, Doodlebug paper and a blue card blank. Doodled with a white gel pen and a blue marker to finish. TFL.

Carrie

Hi everyone, a card today for Daring Cardmakers where the challenge is 'Sparkle and Bling'. I've used this gorgeous and glam Rubber Romance stamp named Carrie, I think it was the boots I loved LOL! She's marker coloured and I've added black glitter to the shirt, hat trim and boots, little gems for buttons, on the hat trim and for the ring on her finger! I've cut round the one of the boots and then matted the image on bright pink pearlescent card and Black Magic Colour core card which is distressed with an edger. Added pink ribbon, a rub on sentiment and more gems to finish. TFL.

Happy Hopper apple eater

The post title reminds me of an old song the Purple people eater, oh dear, a very old song when I think about it! This card is for House Mouse Challenge where this week there's a recipe to follow, the card must include ribbon, two buttons, felt and a scalloped edge and as I've followed Trina's great sketch (which I flipped) I'm also entering A spoon full of sugar. I really love this little hopper image which I've pencil coloured and blended with Sansodor. I tore the edges of a rectangle of black magic card to reveal the tan coloured side and mounted these over the spot and black check background paper, then a red card blank. The two side elements of the sketch are a strip of felt and on top a strip of ric-rac which combines three of the HM requirements as the ric-rac has a scalloped edge LOL! There's a little red punched heart and buttons from stash with a knotted string on each. Sentiment is white rub on letters. TFL. Have a great week. Back soon, Chris

A winter city

Hi everyone, a card for The Tilda and Co. Challenge which this week has to include metal. I've used my Spiral Whisper 'Winter City' stamp design and Tilda with lantern which are pencil coloured and blended with Sansodor. Tilda is cut out and mounted on foam tape.The metallic element is the bronze metallic colouring on the lantern which is also glazed with glossy accents as are the boots. The background image is matted on pale yellow Bazzil card and the background mat is some gorgeous Doodlebug patterned glittered card which I've been hoarding for ages, I don't know why!!!! The card is decorated with some pretty green check elasticated ribbon, stickles, paper flowers a sentiment die cut and gems.

Forever Friends

Hi everyone, back to card making today with a card for Dutch Dare where the challenge is 'a card for a boy/man', don't know if I'm in time for this one but hopefully I am. I've used the little workman Forever Friends stamp which is cut out with nestabilities, pencil coloured and blended with Sansodor. The image is layered over a mat of shimmery, pewter coloured punched card and under that a layer of white card embossed with a cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is a doodlebug rub on and the dots doodled with a sharpie marker. TFL and catch up with everyone over the next few days.

Grass Cake!

A card for Penny Black Saturday where the challenge is to decorate the inside of your card and also for Cute Card Thursday where the challenge is 'Food'. Hopefully my grass cake card will qualify as it's a cake and Cows eat grass LOL! I've made a tri-fold card which is held closed with the ribbon and decorated inside and out. The image is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black and water coloured with Ranger Distress inks, highlighted with stickles, glitter pen and some glaze. I've used Elzybells stamps for the sentiments and little flowers on the inside. I think the paper is Doodlebug but not too sure. TFL.

Castle on the hill

A card for the Dutch Dare Challenge which this week is to use buttons (lots of). For my card I've used my 'Castle on the hill' stamp design for Spiral Whisper with Elzybells 'Knight and Princess' and 'a happy ever after' sentiment. The images are coloured with prismacolor pencils and Sansodor. I've added stickles and glossy accents on the castle and the knight's armour. I added the buttons element of the challenge to the path with liquid pearls in between and overflowing on to the sentiment area. The images are matted on Bazzil Bling, white card and Doodlebug paper with green satin ribbons. The Knight and Princess are popped up on dimension tape. TFL.

Kadoodle Christmas Sparkle

A card for the Papertake Weekly challenge which this week is to follow a sketch. I've used my Kadoodle James in his Santa Hat again which I coloured with Prismacolor pencils and Sansodor. I used some Doodlebug Christmas paper from last year and layered it with dark red Bazzil card that was embossed in the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder. The edges are all sponged with Ranger Distress ink and I've highlighted the embossed snowflakes, the dots on the paper and the hat and holly with Stickles. The sentiment is from the Woodware Christmas set cut out with Nestabilities circles. TFL.
