Simon Monday Challenge

Hi again everyone, I managed to finish a couple of quick makes today and am entering them into this week's challenge at the Simon Monday Challenge blog where it's 'take a leap into the unknown' as the challenge. It was lovely to find out that I received an honourable mention for my tag last week so thank you very much for that Andrea.
For my leap I've chosen fabric, I haven't really worked with it that much in papercrafts and I chose some hessian to start with which I gave a treatment of texture and gesso to and used as a layer between the Woodware flower image and the Fresco Finish painted tag. I attached the hessian by stapling it with a stapler.
The card has the same hessian fabric treatment and this time I used the Woodware stamp for the bottom layer stamped in paint over the top of a painted layer. The focal image is by Inkyliscious and painted with watercolour markers.
I've enjoyed playing with fabric, I like how the gesso picks out all the texture.
Again, Happy Mother's Day to all the Mum's in the UK.
Back soon,
Chris

Craft Barn Xmas Club makes

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend. I've realised that I have a few Craft Barn Christmas club projects that I haven't shared yet and this first set of makes involved making backgrounds with gelato sticks, gold leaf and stencils and then creating flip-it cards, gift boxes and rosettes.

I used Woodware Stamps stamping with gold ink and also with sticky glue to add mega gold flake and I also used the flake through the Tim Holtz harlequin diamond stencil.

For the boxes I used a Sizzix matchbox die to make the box from plain gelato coloured card and then uses the stencilled pieces for decorative bands.

Gelato's are great with stencils, you can push the colour through them or colour the card and then take colour out through the stencil or do a mixture.

The Rosettes are made from coloured printer paper and I added a gem Brad coloured with alcohol ink to hold the pieces together.

Craft Barn Christmas Club

Hi everyone, hope you've had a nice Sunday. I'm sharing a sneak peek of my Craft Barn Christmas Club project for tomorrow. This is the last of the Christmas club classes for the year and we're re finishing up with some git bags, tags and a die cut 3D album flip card.

Using some gorgeous Woodware stamps, Brilliance, Versamagic and distress inks I've created the stamped background on the die cut card pieces cut from white card before building up the card itself. Adding a sentiment strip and die cut poinsettia flower, swirls and snowflakes finished it off.

We won't be continuing the Christmas club in 2016, we're looking to change it probably to a mixed media style club which will be fun.

Back soon,

Woodware and Brusho at the Craft Barn

Hi everyone, I'm sharing some cards that were made recently for a Craft Barn class and were part of the class when we also made the canvas that I blogged here using Brusho paints. For the cards we made background papers using the Brusho paints and then stamped with some gorgeous Woodware stamps and coloured them with alcohol markers.

I added lots of sparkle to all the cards with stardust glitter glue and snow with a white gel pen.

The Reindeer card was done slightly differently, this time I used the Brusho papers to paper piece Rudolf except for his antlers which are coloured with silver pencil.

The colours may not be quite as vibrant as they are in person as I took the pictures at the shop having forgotten take them at the time. Saturday was my last class at the bricks and mortar Craft Barn shop which closed on Sunday but happily they are continuing online and with classes in an alternative venue with a pop up shop starting in the new year.

Back soon,
