Alota Bug Egg - Stamp with fun challenge

Hi everyone, a card today for Stamp with fun where this week there's a sketch to follow. My image is by Alota Rubber Stamps and is watercoloured with distress inks and cut out. I also stamped the little bug head as two images are required for the sketch. I've added nestie cut scalloped ovals behind the images cut from turquoise card and used the same to mat the WRMK Nonense paper and Woodware sentiment. Everything is layered with glue gel onto the white scalloped card blank which is sponged with distress ink. TFL. Chris x

Pink Gem 'Mimi and pig' - Stamp Something Challenge

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good weekend. A card today for Stamp Something challenge and it's sketch something this week with a lovely sketch by Emily which I've flipped. I've used my gorgeous 'Mimi' and pig' stamp by Pink Gem Designs, she's so cute and lovely to colour too, I've watercoloured the image with distress inks and sponged all round the edges of the panel with black distress ink. Papers for the various panels of the sketch are BasicGrey cupcake and blue bazzil for matting and also for the bottom strip which is scored and wrapped with raffia. Everything is mounted on a white scalloped card blank sponged with black. Added a woodware sentiment, stickles and a basicgrey button to finish. TFL. Chris x

Flower bunch

Hi everyone, a card today for Mojo Monday Challenge and another really lovely sketch to follow and also for The Cuttlebug Challenge where this week the theme is 'water colour'. The image is 'Flower bunch' which will be available soon on my digi-stamps blog and I've coloured it with markers and then overpainted with Twinkling H2o water colour paints in green and gold. I've embossed all the card layers with either the swiss dots or stylised flower folders, the large white panel stylised flowers have also been water coloured with the H2o's. At the top of the white card blank I've scored some lines but I don't think they're showing up to well in the photograph, I've punched and glittered some butterflies for three elements at the side of the sketch and added the woodware sentiment and stickles to the bow on the flower bunch to finish. TFL. Chris

Mojo Monday 76

Hi again everyone, another post from me today but I've been trying all week to get a card done for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge as I really loved the sketch, I love all of their sketches but this is the first time I've managed to enter. The image is a gorgeous little Hanglar girl which I've coloured with markers and matted on black card. The blue gingham paper is matted on black too and all the layers are mounted with dimension tape. I've sponged around the image with vintage photo and black distress ink and added the blue ribbon to the bottom panel and a bow to the top. The sentiment is from Woodware, Tiny Phrases and I've done a row of piercing in line with the sentiment. TFL. Hope you've all had some craft time today. Chris

Elzybells Christmas

Hi everyone, a card today for Dutch Dare where the challenge is to 'put a hole in your card', Secret Crafter with a challenge of 'decoupage', ABC with a challenge of 'snow' and Everbody Art Challenge with a challenge of 'winter/Christmas', lots of lovely challenges to put together!
I stamped the gorgeous Elzybells girl with her sledge from the Dinky Christmas set and water coloured with Ranger Distress inks then cut out using the nestabilities label one die, edged and dotted with glamour dust. I stamped the image again, water coloured and cut out the presents and layered with gel glue on the image. To add the hole element of Dutch Dare I die cut a piece of ivory bazzil bling with the labels die one size up from the image size, sponged the edges with black distress ink and layered this on the beige card blank over a piece of snowflake patterned paper, not sure of the brand it was an offcut but might be DCWV Christmas stack. The image is mounted on dimension tape in the centre of the aperture I did a bit of doodling, punched some snowflakes, added gems to their centres and stamped the Woodware sentiment to finish. TFL.

Give me the hunny!

Hi everyone, a card today for House Mouse where this week the challenge is polka dots and also for OCC where there's a lovely sketch by Denise to follow. The HM image is marker coloured and I've added some stickles for a bit of sparkle. Papers are edge distressed and sponged with ranger distress ink and it's all layered onto a card made from Canford red card. The sentiment is from a Woodware set and I added some very funky fibre which was a gift and a blingy self adhesive jewel. There's also a little enamel charm tied on to the fibre knot but I didn't notice it wasn't facing the right way until after I uploaded it. TFL.

Christmas Baubles card two

Hi everyone, another take on the Christmas Baubles image for this card and another way to use the image. The download has a transparent background which means it can be printed on patterned paper and used for paper piecing. I printed three sheets of gingham patterned paper, put them back through the printer and printed the baubles image on top of them all. I then cut and pieced the various patterned pieces around the baubles image printed on white card. The background is the offcuts from each of the three gingham sheets arranged to give a patchwork effect and I've doodled stitching around these and another piece that was cut on one edge with a scalloped blade for the centre panel. The plain image is cut with the largest of the Labels one nestability dies, the edges doodled and sponged with ranger distress in black soot. I stamped around the edges with various small stamps from a Woodware Christmas sentiment set. Apart from a piece of white ribbon under the die cut there is absolutely no bling or glitter on this card which must be a first!!!! TFL.

Emily inspired

A card today for the SCS Featured stamper and I cased a wonderful card by Emily. For my background I used a Hero Arts manuscript stamp inked with Colorbox Orchid ink and randomly stamped over the card blank. Over this I used a sponge to give a distressed appearance. I don't know if Emily has used a background stamp on her base card but I love the effect of it. I did the sponging with more of the orchid ink followed by brown. The image was stamped in Orchid and I dry brushed some brown ink in some areas over the top, added the sentiment, two brads and the ribbon and mounted on the card. I distressed the thin strip of card in the same way and edged with a corner rounder punch. After attaching this I pierced under it with the help of a Tim Holtz ruler. TFL.

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hi everyone and here's a card I made for an SCS sketch challenge. My first layer is gold pearlescent card scored to make a grid, second layers are Basic Grey Figgy Pudding (my current favourite paper!) two of which are cut with a scalloped nestie. Third layers are white card also nestie cut and scored to match the background piece but with a smaller grid. I added pearls to the half circle and dots of red stickles to the background grid. The Woodware sentiment is stamped in gold ink. The pointsettias are my Spiral Whispers design, I stamped twice, coloured with prismacolor pencils and blended with Sansodor. On the second image I coloured just a few brachts. The whole of the first image is cut out, shaped and mounted with Pinflair glue on the circle followed by a few more shaped leaves from the second image. I added yellow stickles to the centres and a little diamond to the edges to finish. TFL.

Awareness

Hi everyone a card today for the SCS colour challenge of Pink, Black (which I forgot about and missed out!!!) and white. Every week this month there'll be a pink colour included in the challenge as October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I make a click almost every day for my friend on the Breast Cancer website where clicks count towards free mammograms. I'll be making some more of these cards to go with this one and they'll be sent out to women who are suffering with this awful disease. The card is also for Papertake Weekly which has a lovely sketch by Katharina to follow and also for Cute Card Thursday where the challenge this week is Buttons and Bows. Hopefully the breast cancer awareness ribbon bows in the background paper will count for that element.

I used a Breast Cancer Awareness digital kit by Summer Driggs which is a free download, she has lots of other lovely kits and very generously lets anyone download them. I think I found the link on Madge's blog so thanks for that. I printed out the two papers I've used and layered them on white card and a scalloped nestie. The buttons are also from the kit which I've printed and cut out. I stamped the Inkadinkado bird and sentiment in Ancient Page ink. The white oblong panel is embossed with the cuttlebug swirls folder. TFL.

Lighthouse by the pier

Hi everyone, my card is for a technique challenge on SCS this week where the challenge is to make a step/accordian fold card. I used silver pearlescent card for the base and followed the instructions which are to cut the base card to 10.5 inches X 5.0 inches, score at 1.25" - 2.5" - 4.25", 6" and at 8.25" then fold with hills and valleys (accordion style) making sure that the smallest (1.25" fold) is folded down.

I've used my stamp design for
Spiral Whisper stamps 'lighthouse by the pier' and a cute Magnolia Tilda, both have been pencil coloured and blended with Sansodor. The background image is matted on more of the silver card and attached to the back fold, followed by Tilda in the middle. At the front I've stamped a Woodware label and sentiment, ideally I'd have liked this on the other side at the front but I stamped first directly on the card and smudged it everywhere!!! The card is decorated with lots of paper flowers with stickles for the centres and I've used thick gel glue so that some of them are popped up over others. To give some sparkle I sprinkled glamour dust on Tilda's wings, pockets and the sea. TFL. Back soon, Chris

Christmas Tree Row

Hi everyone, this week the challenge on Dutch Dare is to make a Christmas card. I've used my Spiral Whisper 'Christmas Tree Row' stamp design which is water coloured with Distress inks and sprinkled with lovely sparkly glamour dust. The image is matted on sage green bazzil and popped up on dimension tape. The background layer is white card embossed in the cuttlebug and matted on the green bazzil. I added the little tab with a woodware sentiment and decorated with tartan ribbon, red bow and little gems. TFL.

Four in one

A card for four challenges today! House Mouse and Friends challenge is lace, Friday Sketchers which has a lovely sketch this week by Carole, A Spoon full of sugar where the challege is to use three different ribbons and Papertake Weekly with a challenge to use stitching of some type which can be faux.

I used this cute housemouse and birdie singing a duet and coloured with ranger distress inks, layered on dark blue bazzil and white card that I punched a lacy style border into. I did the same with the Woodware sentiment. The angled square is more of the blue bazzil and Pink Petticoat paper and the bottom layer is also a pretty pink petticoat design paper. I doodled for the stitching element with a black fineliner, added the three ribbons, gems and a green flower with gem to finish. TFL.

Introducing Amelia and present

Here is Christmas Amelia with a lovely present for someone!!! Amelia is coloured with primsacolor pencils and decoupaged. I cuttlebugged the card blank with Snow Dots embossing folder and attached a piece of Christmas tree paper from last year, I think it was DCWV paper but I'm not sure. The card is finished with white ribbon and a Happy Christmas sentiment from Woodware. TFL.

Tuesday colour challenge

I made this card today for a colour challenge of Purely Pomegranate, Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery. I don't have any SU papers and so always have to improvise. It was a good chance to use my new Sara Kay 'Rosalie's Bicycle' stamp. I've been admiring this one for a while and finally got it yesterday. It's just such a gorgeous design by a fabulous artist.

I stamped the image in versafine, coloured with prisma pencils and Sansodor/oms and a paper stump, trying to match the colours. I cut the image out with a scalloped rectangle nestability and layered on pale green Bazzil Bling with has a lovely sheen to it, a mid green and Burgundy bazzil. The card blank is embossed in the cuttlebug with the textile folder and pounced with Pebbles pearlescent chalk. The sentiment is from a Woodware family sentiment set, stamped with versamark and chalked over. I've finished the card with green organza ribbon attached under the image panel and some gems.

There are some more great sneak peaks on the Spiral Whisper blog today with lots more to come. The designs are fabulous and I hope you can have a look at the new previews, the link is in my blog list.

Enjoy the fabulous weather and back soon.

Chris
