Craft Barn Product of the Week - Katzelkraft Stamps

Hi everyone! Product of the week at the Craft Barn Blog this week is Katzelkrft Stamps and I've made a gift box for tea light candles with the beautiful Katzelkraft frame stamp which forms the top of the box made from bazzil card.

The frame was stamped with Memento ink, coloured with copic markers and then I cut out the middle to give the aperature. To protect the colouring I painted on some gloss multi medium which gives it a nice sheen and then I glued the frame to a piece of acetate cut to the same dimensions. I made up the end opening style box and cut away the inside of the top to leave just a a small amount of card to attach the frame.

I hope you'll pop over to the blog and have a look at all the gorgeous projects from my DT friends this week and today a wonderful project from Michelle as well as my gift box with more to come tomorrow and Saturday.

Enjoy your day!

Katzelkraft Collage Tag

Hi everyone! It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I have a tag to show today stamped in a collage style with the beautiful stamps from Single Arch, Bois A6, Chapitre A6, KTZ77 Vu d'ici, Cage et Chandelier, Vinci Joconde KTZ64m, I hope you'll pop over there and see what we've all been making :).

The woodgrain stamp that I used isn't that visible in the photograph as I used it on the base layer as a resist with clear ink and then sponged my distress ink background over it. The rest of the stamps have been used collage style with permanent olive green ink. I've added doodling in white pen, dimensional gloss on the birds and letters and gold pen, ribbon and trinkets at the top.

I'm entering my tag into the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge where this week theme is a 'show a word'. My word is 'art' and I've used it stamped and also in the TH Ideology embellishments at the top of the tag.

Katzelkraft stamps are available exclusively in the UK at The Craft Barn and also direct from France.

Enjoy your day.

Dragonfly Tag

Hi everyone! I have a tag to show today for Katzelkraft Stamps and which I'm entering into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge of 'use your favourite stamp'. I've used my favourite stamp of the moment which is the script stamp from Paris KTZ35, I use it a lot, it's the perfect background stamp. It's closely followed by the dragonfly from Papillons 04 which I also use a lot :D! The background is sponged with distress inks, spritzed with shimmer mist over a Prima stencil and I stamped the dragonfly directly onto the tag in brown and then again in Dusty Concord distress ink so that I could cut out the wings to 3d them.

Lots of sparkle from stickles, fibres, gems, pearls and doodling with brown and gold pens to decorate and some pretty lace on the bottom to finish it off.

Katzelkraft stamps are available here in France and exclusively in the UK at the Craft Barn.

Enjoy your day today :).

Katzelkraft - Simon Says Stamp and Show

Hi everyone! It's may day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a gift set which goes with the canvas I made and posted on Sunday using  the pretty Katzelkraft stamps Oiseau Musique KTZ753 02 which are perfect for lots of projects and great for collage style projects. I'm entering the set into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge which this week is show some metal and I've made some metal flowers and added a metal clasp to the box so that I can enter that.

I did the top of the box in the same style but with a smaller glass tile for the top of the box using the Katzelkraft stamps onto book paper. The box was painted with crackle paint and painted over with the same colour used to paint the tag. The flowers are made from metal sheet and embossed with a Crafts Too embossing folder then sanded to reveal the metal under the colour, I also did some sanding on the box and  and the tag which was embossed with the same folder.

Katzelkraft stamps are available in France at Katzelkraft Stamps and in the UK here at the Craft Barn.

Have a good day today.

Canvas

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying the weekend. I'm just scraping in on some challenges with this canvas which is for Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge where this week the challenge is distressed collage fragments. I haven't managed to enter for the last few weeks and wanted to this time as it's coming to the end of the book! At Gingersnap Creations there's a colour challenge of jewel colours plus gold and at Simon Says Stamp and show the theme is to show your ephemera which I've already entered this week but hoping I'm allowed more than one :D!

To get the vivid jewel colours I used Brusho powder paint and I've used stamps from the gorgeous Katzelkraft set Oiseau Musique to make the collage as per Tim Holtz's Compendium book. For  the gold elements I used a krylon gold leafing pen and some gold sequin waste. Vintage paper, punched and stamped butterflies say ephemera to me so hopefully that's OK for Simon Says Stamp and Show.

Katzelkraft stamps are available in France at Katzelkraft Stamps and in the UK here at the Craft Barn.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi everyone and Happy Valentine's Day, I hope you're knee deep in cards and gifts...........just like me :D!! Today's card is made using the new 'Love' set by Katzelkraft Stamps and the flower vase stamp and the sentiment from the plate are stamped in brown memento ink and coloured with copics. The stamping around the edge is another Katzelkraft tree stamp (just the branches stamped) from  Trees 02 and I've added stickles to the vase and gold pearl pen dots to decorate along with the hand dyed ribbon.

Hope you have a lovely day today.

Katzelkraft - Studio L3 - Simon Says Stamp and Show - Gingersnap Creations

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well today. It's my turn on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a card using the beautiful Art Deco lady from the Art Deco stamp plate and a corner flourish from the Art Nouveau Set.

I've used Tim Holtz's colourful layered fragments technique for the centre piece as that's the challenge on lovely Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge this week and I've also used some glittered polka dot vellum so that I can enter the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge of polka dots. My blog friend Kim made a superb bag for her i-pod from grunge paper for her DT project on there this week, very inspirational as always, I loved it. I'm also entering the Gingersnap Creations 'once in a blue moon' challenge where you can choose a theme from several by the DT members which I think is a lovely idea and I've chosen  Jules theme which is to stamp on acrylic with permanent ink.

Enjoy your day and thank you as always for your lovely comments, always very much appreciated.

Katzelkraft DT - Studio L3 - Simon Says Stamp and Show

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend and a good start to the week. It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a card in a collage style of stamping with the beautiful KTZ85 Chandalier plate.

I started off with white card and used TH's distress misting masks technique over a leaf vine mask which means I can enter my card into lovely Linda's challenge at Studio L3 and also as luck would have it this week the challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is masking so I'm entering that too :D Both of these challenges are always a pleasure to join in with, gorgeous inspiration from Linda at Studio L3 and all the entrants there and from all the DT members at SSSS and I've found a lot of interesting blogs and inspirational art by entering them, I'm really enjoying them both.

I've stamped the scrollwork from the stamp set at the top and then the chandalier to dangle from it also stamping the text stamp over the entire piece. To get some light and dark text I stamped off the ink first on some scrap paper except for the last time in the bottom left corner.

Bottom and right edges were painted with black soot crackle paint, edges were sponged with black soot distress ink and to decorate I added lots of silver pearl pen dots, two decorative metal corners and these and the crackle paint were highlighted with white rub-n-buff.

Thanks as always for your lovely comments which I appreciate very much.

New year card

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good day today and have enjoyed the bank holiday if you're in the UK. It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog and I've made a New Year card using gorgeous new stamps from the Cage et Chandelier  plate and the clock from the Christmas KTZ45 plate.

I made the card base background with stamps from the Cage et Chandelier set  stamped with black archival ink on white bazzil card and I can see this set is going to get a lot of use :). I stamped the clock from KTZ45 twice, again with archival on white bazzil and I cut out the clock hands from one of the images and added stickles stardust glitter glue over it. I stamped another panel using the flourish from Cage et Chandelier using white ink on black card and added some silver tinsel fibres around it and a blue gem. When this was mounted I glued on the clock hands over the top of everything and added another gem.

The Craft Barn DT Project - Alterting

Hi everyone and here I am a day late (whoops!) with my Friday DT Altering project for the Craft Barn blog. I thought I had this one scheduled but when I looked today there it was still in drafts :), so apologies to my team mates for that.

Everyone has made gorgeous projects for this post, I hope you can pop over for a look and there's a fantastic altered tin by Isa with a step by step on how she made it.

My bird box materials list is on the blog and briefly, it's painted with Ecogreen acrylic paints and glue to make the crackle paint effect. When it was all dry it was stamped with Katzelkraft stamps from the nature plate using Stazon ink. I decorated pearl pens, stickles, glitter, distress ink and glossy accents. I love the shape of this bird box, I think it's the elongated lines of it and I might have to do another one soon, I really enjoyed it.

Well I hope your Christmas preparations are going OK, we've had several more inches of snow here today in the South East which doesn't help getting around. Stay warm :)

Katzelkraft Christmas Bird House Gift Box

Hi everyone! A little bird house gift box to show today for the Katzelkraft blog using the stamp plates  Noel Blanc,Santa KTZ 46,   Arbres 02 and Vu d'ici.

The bird house was cut from an SVG file on the Cricut and then I misted it with blue glimmer mist and on the roof with bronze blush cosmic shimmer mist. I dried the shimmer mist with a heat gun and then stamped the bird with coffee Archival ink and the christmas baubles with spun sugar distress ink and another layer over the top with stormy sky distress ink. When the ink was dry I used the snow stamp and white acrylic paint to stamp randomly over the bird box. The roof was stamped with the tree stamp and coffee Archival Ink and again over that I sponged some white acrylic paint.

When everything was dry I glued the box together, sponged the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink glued on the embellishments, added the ribbon and embellishments to the roof before gluing down and finished off with a blue pearl pen and some shredded tissue tucked inside.

I'm entering my bird box into the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week and theme is to use a Tim Holtz technique. As I've been following along with the 12 tags of Christmas I used his technique for stamping snow with acrylic paint. I've made a few of the tags but didn't manage all of them and I'll show those soon. I'm also delighted to say that I won the Simon Says Stamp tag Challenge last week and have my new blinkie to display :). Anyway, lots of inspiration over on SSS&S from the team as always.
Enjoy your day and I hope you're nearly ready for Christmas :D!
