Craft Stamper - Take Make It Challenge Four

Hi everyone, back again today with my project for the Craft Stamper Blog's 'Take it, make it Challenge number four and this time our challenge is taken from Kim Costello's beautiful acetate article on page 46 of the current issue (September) of the magazine.

The prize on offer for the winner of the challenge apart from being published in the magazine is a gift voucher from  a sprinkle of imagination.



 I love Kim's takes on acetate, she always has such imaginative ideas so I enjoyed finding a way to use some acetate that was part of some packaging on a die which I'd saved. I used my Sizzex Tim Holtz Bigz pillow box die to cut the acetate and then I inked it all over with alcohol inks, stamped with a Kaiserkraft texture stamp and decorated with Cheery Lynn build a flower and butterfly dies, lace, twine and pearl pen pearls.

Craft Barn Wishing Well - Shrink Plastic

Hi everyone! Another wishing well day at the Craft Barn blog today and this time we're using shrink plastic which is a wish granted for Christine C who wins a prize for having her question picked and wanted to know about inks etc., that can be used on shrink plastic.  On the Craft Barn Blog there's a wonderful tutorial by Kay with lots of her gorgeous samples using different colouring mediums on the shrink together with a beautiful sample and 'how to' from Isa for another completely different look :D.


I used alcohol ink on my shrink plastic after die cutting it with Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations dies and used it to decorate a large wooden peg. Craft Barn Wishing Well - Alcohol Inks and Eco Friendly Paints

Hi everyone it's the Craft Barn Wishing Well day today and the DT were challenged by Melsh to show techniques using alcohol inks. Melsh also wins a prize as her question was chosen, congrats -Melsh!. The box I've made uses alcohol inks with Eco Friendly acrylic paint on chipboard and I've made a step by step which is over on The Craft Barn blog and if you add a comment on the post then there's another chance to win a prize! My DT friend Isa has also made a piece using this technique which is beautiful and using a different colour option. The wishing well remains open for suggestions to the team. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Numbers

Hi everyone, hope you're having a lovely weekend. I'm just scraping in on the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge which this week is numbers. I've made some tags which are all embossed using the TH Patchwork folder and this has lots of numbers in various forms to emboss each of the tags which were placed in slightly different parts of the folder for each emboss. Cosmic Shimmer mist was sprayed over all the tags then I went over the raised areas with black distress ink and some acrylic paint here and there. Around the edges I smoothed on some Iron Filings Viva Decor paste and added some BasicGrey Boxer fibres, bronze half pearls, a TH die cut sparkle powder embossed swirl, charms and a nail head brad which were re-coloured with alcohol ink.  They're all the same colour scheme except the tag top left is catching the light more and showing up the sheen from the Cosmic shimmer, I love this colour combo of Midnight Blue and Bronze Blush. SL3 10 and SSSS 2

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good weekend. Rain, rain and more rain here :(! Scraping in on the last day on Linda's Studio L3 challenge 10 Distress Stickles and Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge 2 Wendy Vecchi challenge with my tag. I've taken the acrylic flower from Wendy's blog as my inspiration and cut my acrylic with the TH grunge flower die then stamped over with a polka dot background stamp. The flower layer underneath is cut from grunge paper and I've used the distress stickles technique from the Compendium of Curiosities on that. The tag is also cut from acrylic and the background created with alcohol inks and then I've layered it over some kraft card. Finished off with more distress stickles, ribbon, pearls, a round mirror tile for the flower centre, some hand cut embossed and sanded  green metal leaves and a Paper Artsy text stamp. The Craft Barn – sketch challenge

 
 

Hi everyone, hope you’ve had a good weekend. It’s snowing again here but luckily the ground is wet!
On the Craft Barn blog we’re having a monthly sketch challenge and for February there’s a theme of love but that doesn’t have to be valentine, there are also three shopping vouchers to be won :). The original post with the sketch was issued last Monday if you fancy joining in and the girls have made some gorgeous layouts and cards using the sketch, you don’t have to make a layout. I had a go at making a mini book from some holiday photo’s and I’ll be adding some more pages to it although I struggled to find pictures that weren’t blurred from this holiday! I enjoyed doing it, first time I’ve tried a scrapped mini book and it was nice to write down little things I remembered.
I used BasicGrey Origins paper pad throughout and embossed some Ten Seconds Studio metal (first time for that too) for some of the embellishments using the basic metal tool kit and Ranger alcohol inks and blending tool. Lots of punching with Martha Stewart punches and sponging with Ranger Distress inks. Writing and doodling done with black fineliner, white gel pen and sparkle gel pen. TFL.
