Katzelkraft - Notebook

Hi everyone! A notebook that I've made to show today for Katzelkraft using stamps KTZ91, KTZ93, KTZ 94 and KTZ96 and which I'm entering into the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge which has a theme of distressed/torn edges this week, hopefully distress means sanding and sponging the edges which I've done on the covers using walnut stain distress ink.

The notebook covers  are chipboard covered with card that I stamped on. The front cover image was coloured with copics and pencils and the title is handwritten. The card for the inside and back covers was inked with distress ink, sprayed with perfect pearls and water, sanded and then  sponged around the edges, then glued to the covers. I've painted the covers with a layer of gloss medium to protect them as I'll be keeping the notebook in my handbag. The book was put together with some printer paper cut to size using my binding machine.

Katzelkraft stamps are available exclusively in the UK at the Craft Barn and from Katzelkraft Stamps in France.

Enjoy your day!

Magnolia DT card

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good week so far! Another Magnolia DT card from me today using the lovely heart chocolate box, the rose stamp and the gorgeous Dinner Tilda. Everything is water coloured with distress inks apart from the background paper which I made by stamping the rose onto vellum, heat embossing with white embossing powder and then colouring on the reverse side with copic markers (a nice tip from my friend Sandra :)) and it gives a lovely soft look to the roses and quite different from those I’ve stamped and water coloured. Everything has been cut out and arranged over the card blank which was cut with a labels nestie die and some ribbon and lace. I added some pearl pen, stickles and some of the pretty lilac bead strands which Magnolia have just brought out to decorate.

Have a nice evening, thank you as always for the lovely comments you leave and which I appreciate very much, I hope to catch up with my blog hopping when I get all my DT cards done. TFL.

DU2DS 29 - Buttons

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, it’s our first challenge of 2010 on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp today and we’re starting off with a theme of buttons. There’s some great inspiration from my design team friends and we hope you can join us.

I’ve used my rose heart digi soon to be available which is coloured with markers and then cut out. I gathered some lace and glued it around the heart then added it to the lilac bazzil easel card which was embossed with a CB embossing folder then sponged with dusty concorde distress ink. The tag is cut from the same card with a nestie tag die and I added the heart shaped button, stickles and doodlebug rub on letters for the sentiment. Have a good Friday. TFL.

Happy New Year

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

hApPy NeW yEaR everyone! I hope you had a good celebration and I wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.

Here’s a new year card which I’m entering into the Cupcake Challenge where the theme is celebration and is back to a more Christmassy looking card after the zingy colours of yesterday. There’s lots of glittery sparkle from the gorgeous background paper which is wrapping paper I saved from one of my presents. I stamped the sweet Jam Tilda and the Magnolia calendar stamp with Memento ink and coloured with copics. I’ve done lots of faux stitching and doodling with white and silver gel pens, cut around Tilda’s legs and then mounted the image panel on dimension tape over the white satin ribbon. There’s lots of silver stickles too dotted around the image. TFL.

Colour Create 35 – Lemon and Lime

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Lemon and lime
Hi everyone, a new Colour Create challenge starts today with a lovely colour combo of lemon and lime with an option of spring or summer flowers chosen by our lovely Sharon so thanks Sharon, love these zingy colours! There’s some amazing cards from my DT friends and a great prize from Michelle’s Scrapbooking so I hope you can join us for this one.
I’ve stamped a sweet little girl from The Greeting Farm 'hope and grace' set that I haven’t managed to use before, coloured her with copics, cut out and added lots of sparkle with stickles and a glitter pen. The die cut nestie shape is embossed with a CB happy birthday folder, sanded, edged with lime ink and stickles and punched with a slot punch to add the dotty ribbon. Background paper is BasicGrey Lime Rickey, distressed and edged with stickles and the flowers are a stamp from the same Hope and Grace set, I stamped, coloured and cut out five of them, added buttons tied with lime green cord and stickles.
Have a great time tonight if you’re celebrating new years eve! TFL.

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp Challenge 28

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all getting close with your preparations for Christmas and not making last minute cards as I am :D but if you are we have a nice challenge on DU2DS from today which is ‘last minute Christmas cards’. There’s great inspiration from my DT friends and a prize of some images so I hope you can join us.

I’ve used the ‘Christmas wreath’ digi, coloured with markers and glittered with stickles and teamed up the images for my three cards with some ‘My Mind’s Eye’ paper. I used the reverse side of the paper to do a punched border and I’ve done some edge distressing and doodling too. Quite plain designs but I was able to make them quickly.

As I’ve been writing this post we’ve had several inches of snow which is very unusual, I think I’ll be staying put tomorrow! TFL.

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, a new challenge on DU2DS starts today and this time it’s a colour challenge of red, green & a neutral. Gorgeous inspiration from my DT friends, hope you can join us.

I’ve used my Snow Fairy digi image and coloured with copic markers. Did some embossing with the snowflakes folder again as it was out on the table :), added some punched snowflakes, faux stitching, sponging with green and red ink, lots of stickles, tulle and gems and the image is cut out with a nestie die and mounted on foam tape. TFL.

Multi Challenge Card

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Hi everyone, hope you’ve all had a good weekend. I’ve managed to make a card that covers five challenges and it’s not often that that happens for me :), the first is Cute Card Thursday, glitter me silly and my card is well glittered :), can’t seem to make a card without stickles! The Craft Garden has a theme of sparkle too, Secret Crafter have a theme of the four seasons and I’ve chosen winter, By the Cute and Girly have a winter wonderland theme. At Allsorts this week they’d like to see a card for a child and this cute mouse is suitable for that I think.
I’ve used this cute Whiff of Joy Henry Mouse stamp, coloured it with copic markers and then I’ve gone over most of it with a copic spica clear glitter pen, a sakura sparkle gel pen on the step and lots of Stardust stickles. The layers are cut with nestabilities labels dies and the background paper is BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses which is getting a good outing this week, and everything is edge sponged with Tattered Rose distress ink. I’ve done faux stitching with a Pentel white hybrid pigment ink gel pen and I’ve found that this is best white ink pen I’ve used, much better than the inkssentials as the ink is very white and flows really nicely. To decorate I also added some white tulle from the lovely Tab at Tabbycrafts, some glittery flowers and clear gems. TFL.

Crazy for Challenges – Easel card

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Hi everyone, hope you’re all having a good week so far and to everyone who went to the NEC, I hope you had a great time!
This is one of the sample cards I made for the Craft Barn with another lovely Motivet stamp which they now have available and the easel style which I think is my favourite at the moment lets me enter it into the Crazy for cards challenge.  The colouring is with copic markers and the paper is Eskimo Kisses by BasicGrey. I’ve cut a nestie label shape for the bottom of the card and added a Craftwork Cards sentiment. The snowflakes are punched with a Martha Stewart punch and I added some wide ribbon and stickles to finish. TFL.

Crafty Cardmakers challenge

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, hope your weekend is off to a good start. I’ve made a card for the Crafty Cardmakers challenge which is a challenge I’ve only just found. This time the challenge is to just have some stamping on your card with the optional extra of using a stamping technique you haven’t used before or some paper piecing, resist etc.

I’ve used this cute Motivet stamp from the new Christmas collection available at the Craft Barn and coloured it with copics then added stickles and some doodling and cut out with a circle nestability. I’ve cut some BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses paper for the scalloped circle and matting layer underneith and I’ve embossed a piece of whitewashed Core’dinations card using a Crafts Too stars embossing folder which I’ve then sanded and also coloured in some of the stars. I suppose my option is that I’ve used paper with pinky colours in it for a Christmas card, I usually tend to go for more traditional Christmas colours but I really like these in the Eskimo Kisses collection that have a lot of pinks. I’ve added more doodling around the edges, some red tulle and a craftwork cards sentiment. TFL.

DU2DS 25 and Just Magnolia Featured Stamper

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Hi everyone, Friday again and time for another DU2DS challenge. This time our DT friend Larissa has designed a great sketch for us to follow which we all enjoyed using and we hope you can join us. There are some digital images for a prize and some great inspiration from my DT friends.  I’ve used a soon to be available digi ‘Got Turkey’ which is coloured with copics and then cut out, I’ve also put some glaze on his eyes and nose and added some sparkle with a copic spica clear gel pen on the turkey. The paper is by K&Co and I’ve distressed all the edges with scissors. I added some doodling around the edge of the card blank, a ribbon, gem and a doodlebug sentiment to finish off.

I was delighted to be asked by Bev and Jacquie to be a featured stamper on the Just Magnolia Challenge and I’ve done a little picture ‘how to’ for distressing which is up on the challenge now. Thank you very much ladies for inviting me, I really enjoyed doing it. This is the card I made to go along with the how to and it was made to one of Rach’s lovely sketches from a few weeks back.

This gorgeous Tilda was coloured with copics and cut out. I used some dark pink card for the layers and BasicGrey Lemonade papers.

I’m hoping to have something to post tomorrow but if not hope you have a good weekend. If anyone is going to the Craft Barn Mini Fest on Saturday, I’ll be there demonstrating the new Little Clair stamps and I hope to catch up with you there. Also, if anyone is going to the NEC on Sunday, I’ll be demonstrating on the Magnolia Stamps stand for a couple of hours in the morning and it would be great to meet anyone who’s going to be there too. TFL.

Colour Create 31 – white, blue and silver

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>

Karen's photo challenge

Hi everyone, time for a new challenge on Colour Create. This time our combo has been chosen by Karen and is a gorgeous choice of blue, silver and white, thanks Karen, I loved this one, they’re a perfect set of colours for Christmas. The options this time are winter and glitter but these aren’t compulsory. My DT friends have some amazing cards for this challenge and I hope you can join us. Our sponsor is Handy Hippo so there’s a lovely prize to be won.

I’ve made a gatefold card and used a new Motivet stamp from their Christmas range available at the Craft Barn. Colouring is with copics and the paper is Imaginisce, I think this one is so pretty but it’s actually the reverse side of the main pattern, I love the blue. The image is cut out with a Nestabilities die and I’ve edged it with silver ink. I added some punched snowflakes, a Craftwork Cards greeting, ribbon and gems to finish. TFL.

21st birthday

<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Hi everyone, I thought I’d show a couple of cards I made for my youngest Son who has his 21st birthday tomorrow, yikes, I feel old!! They’re both quite straightforward and were quick to make but cute images wouldn’t be what he’d like so no painting involved. For the first card I stamped the numbers from a PaperArtsy numbers set and then coloured them in with a silver and red gel pen. I’ve sponged the edges, doodled and then embossed the edges of this and the card blank on my scoreboard. Added some gems to finish.
<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
The second card is another simple layout but it’s a huge, almost twelve inches wide. I’ve used some October Afternoon paper for this one which I’ve sponged around the edges with black soot distress ink. There’s a strip of black bazzil punched with a Martha Stewart zig-zag punch and some smooth gems that I’ve re-coloured with a black copic pen. The numbers and letters were all cut on the Cricut and I've just realised after seeing the photo uploaded that the 's' is upside down, hopefully he won't notice :). For the numbers, I've done some stamping with an Artistic Stamper background stamp and black distress ink randomly around them, they've been embossed three times with thick embossing powder and then frozen and cracked. The second photo shows the cracked effect closer up, I rubbed some black ink into the cracks and then wiped clean.
<KENOX S860  / Samsung S860>
Well, I hope you’re having a good week, the rain has stopped here at last and now I can go out! TFL.

A cup of tea and some news!

Hi everyone, hope your week is going well. I have a card today for three challenges:
Daring Cardmakers: Favourite things (at least five of your favourite things to use on your cards). My favourite things used here are May Arts ribbon, gems, stardust stickles, punch, piercing, distress ink sponging, copics, creating backgrounds to my images, dimension tape ( I almost always use this, I like to lift up the layers), Bazzil cardstock. Well that's nine, a shame, if I'd had ten there was a gold star in it :)!

Allsorts Challenge: Furry friends (I like bunnies!)

Simon Says Challenge: All that sparkles, (gems and stickles)

I've used an MFT bunny set, I love the little accessory stamps that go with these sets and I've used them all on this card and I also love the sentiment which is hidden at the top a bit by the ribbon but the last word is 'company'. The image is coloured with copics, I've done some flicky strokes to give a bit of texture to the fur and then I've stamped the leaves in different shades of distress inks. All around the image I've sponged with distress inks to create the background then added lots of stardust stickles and gems. Image is mounted on bazzil card one piece punched with an MS scallop punch and then pierced along the scallopes (I've had a day off from the doodling today)! Added the pretty ribbon to finish.

On to my news! I entered the Magnolia Stamps weekend challenge back in September and was very excited that I won first prize. It was very difficult to keep quiet about it all this time, I had to wait until the new Magnolia ink magazine was out which it is now. I just got my copy yesterday which has my card on the cover (mega exciting) and a double page spread too, it's going in a frame, well one of the other two copies that I've bought are anyway :) The magazine is superb and all the projects from the Design Team are amazing, they've put so much work into their creations, it's all gorgeous and Christmassy.

As if I wasn't excited enough about this, Magnolia have asked me to be on their Design Team! I'm still dealing with the unreality of this every day at the moment until I receive my stamps but I have the emails which I keep looking at to believe it :) . I found out a couple of days after Ally Pally, so that certainly was an amazing week for me. I can't wait until I can post my first DT card on my new Magnolia blog which I'm in the process of starting. So, apologies that I haven't really been on top of emails and commenting, things have been a bit manic. TFL.
